Dixons McMillan Academy

First week of my sister attending and here's what I have to say. The location of the school is horrendous, on each end of the road that they must use to enter the school are mini roundabouts, followed by streets in-between (closer to the mosque side) which are quite wide that they also must cross, and as always, it's extremely busy (no surprise there, Bradford) in this generation of children and for students as young as 12, the streets taken to get to this school is too much, too hectic. I myself as an adult don't enjoy crossing these roads and I have enough experience travelling in many areas as I've lived all over and been walking myself to school since I was below 10. The school has banners all around it's fences, they're so welcoming (not) with half of them saying "no excuses" "high expectations, no excuses" like this isn't a f*cking summer boot camp or detention centre for minor convicts. You probably won't be able to contact your child via their mobile during break or lunch either as they're extremely strict about phones too, having you leave it in a locker all day and not on your body. There wasn't any staff either on their first day to direct students as to where to go.

They neglect the higher achievers who end up achieving way less than their potential.
No extra curricular and btec subjects for GCSE are poorly taught and assessed.
Do not send your child here if they are bright and want to learn.

My son goes to this school and the staff where so rude to him because they thought he was bullying someone he said he wasn’t and my son got isolation when they realised he didn’t they didn’t even care what kind off school is this
