"Would go back in time and not send my child here."

My child has only been going for a year and this is probably the third time that they have sent my child home because of problems with the plumbing? Of course the kids love it but I didn’t send my child to this school just for you lot to send her back. However it seems to be a problem when I want to keep my child at home off sick for more then a day - make it make sense. The receptionist is also VERY rude. And it seems to me like for most subjects they don’t even have proper teachers? I’ve been told that in the past year, 2 head of years have been wearing “supply lanyards” because they can’t seem to hire any decent, consistent teachers. Also teachers are allowed to take off time for weeks on end yet for my child it can’t even be off a week? I’ve also been told the teachers favour the “louder” students when they are finally able to do something right rather then the quieter students who get it right everytime yet can never be noticed for it.

"Awful institution"

Disgusting- only one word of many to describe this horrible school!

I have sent my child here for a few years now and they have either treated my child like an animal or myself. The teachers are some of the most despicable humans to exist as throw out detentions for the sake of it likewise to the head of years who scream at students consistently. My daughter tells me about the Y11 head of year who gets into pupils faces too close to threaten or perhaps intimidate them both physically and mentally whilst the Y10 head of year roars across students.

And yes, I understand this is a school- children misbehave- but shouldn't there be a sense of control in the school FIRST to prevent these kids from making the wrong decisions? I only wonder how they got such a good Ofsted rating as it definitely needs to be reviewed again!

Aside from the main staff, the receptionists are another agenda on their own as they speak to you like the dirt under their shoe- quite literally. They are either clueless or extremely disrespectful and theres no inbetween. They speak to you with such disgust and disregard making you feel worthless as a parent whos merely attempting to communicate with your childs school.

Aside from this, school dinners are a whole different ballpark as my daughter has recalled seeing her classmates pick out hairs or worms from their food at dinnertime. And when one classmate did report having picked out a worm from their food- their head of year came and laughed and smiled in their faces as if it was some sort of entertainment…

Finally, the headteacher lacks any sort of unity or closeness with her pupils as said by my daughter as she wonders around the corridors aimlessly trying to catch pupils out instead of asking them how their day has been.

Nonetheless, this school has some perks, none i can think of to name as of now though, hence why i sent my daughter here, but her secondary school experience I wanted her to have to mould her into an adult has been ruined. If you truly want to send your child here, dont be fooled by the façade they put on to prevent the guilt of 5 long years.

"Teachers"

This is a bad school.
The discrimination of teachers to students is the thing I am most appalled at.
There this one teacher let's call her 🍺.
Now 🍺 thinks she can give inspirational speeches but she cant, she tells us to do work but is then sat there yapping about how we are not doing work , instead of zipping it and letting us do the work.
And I mean it when I say this, if🍺 hates you then she HATES you, right to your core.
She tells you how much "potential your parents see in you, but I don't " or how much we "let down her hopes."
You can just never seem to please her.
That is just one of the teachers I'll complain about today.
Thx for reading my review and I hope you go to a much better school than me

"Not as bad as you think"

As quite an experienced student, I know a lot of these reviews are saying that the school tears down your mental health, etc but hear me out.

Simple rules such as having your lanyard and tucking your hijab in or wearing no jewellery can sound stupid, but it is for our own good so that we are safe at all times. I think many students misunderstand and forget rhe simple concept and meanings to these rules. They are so easy to abide by and students dont have to worry a single bit.. its only a handful of girls who want to wear makeup or jewelry to fit in trends or be popular. These rules are good to help you in the future as well, as when we will go to college, university, jobs etc, we are well prepared. We are too young to be thinking about makeup and jewellery, shouldn't we be waiting till we're a little older? 💀💀

Today's society is actuallu so so judgemental that we forget the real purpose. We are only going to school to prepare for our gcses and future, and once its done then we can enjoy the little things in life like wearing jewelry and makeup.

Many teachers work really hard to actually teach students and help them to learn topics well. Yes, some teachers can teach less well than others, however majority teachers work well and do their job to make sure we get our work done efficiently. Some students might have bad experiences as they are most likely the one at fault, which is why they dislike some teachers. And homework amounts are given depending on what year you're in, and the older you get the more they give you as gcses get closer and closer.. it is for our own good.

And yes, it takes some time to complete it, but if you think about it, GCSEs are like the most important test of our life, and our future relies on it. The more better you do, the more doors you open.

The food at the cantene is decent, most of the days of the week have food that is nice but there are a few days that they make food that's disgusting, (depending on how picky you are, but im quite picky lmao) which is why they are many more options like a panini, or sandwiches that are pretty good. I personally enjoy them.

I think that a lot of students worry about things that are unnecessary, and that they should be looking more into their future to actually realise how important school is at this stage of their life. I think they see some things in the wrong light, and forget the real reason for certain decisions.

If I'm completely honest, I think that majority students are better than other schools, as some people I know have completely changed, or forgotten why they're really at school and change their future path for the bad. Here there are a handful of students that don't focus at school, but majority aren't bad at all.

I am only a student but I'm not biased towards them, as there are definitely things they could improve like the size of the school, and hijab material as they can be distracting and annoying and many more. xx

"THE WORST SCHOOL EVERRRR"

I hate this stupid school if they confiscate something you wont get it back till end of half term you have to tuck your scarfs into your blazer yu have to have permission to take off your blazer
You can even get a detention if you wear the wrong colored socks yu cant even have your phones with you what if theres an emergency and school wont ring home then what school meals are disgusting and cold theyve even split year 9 into two groups so if all your friends are in the other group tough luck your gonna have to be lonely the teachers do not care about you whatsoever theyll make students annoyed or cry and they wont care and then when teachers shout at a student for no reason and the student will answer back theyll get in lots of trouble
You cant wear jewelry not even tiny earrings even if theyre hidden under your scarf and if you do they’ll confiscate it and like i said earlier wont give it back till end of half term and they only take it off some students and if you get in a fight theyll put you in so much trouble but there is this one girl and they dont say anything about her and no one feels safe around her i could go on and on but theyll already be annoyed at this if they see it

"A great start to her education journey"

We were so impressed with the staff and facilities at Bronte Girls' Academy during our daughter's time there. The school's approach to homework and independent learning was really helpful in preparing her for the next stage of her education. We're grateful for the opportunities she had to develop her interests and talents.

"Bad school "

This school is disgusting in ways I cannot even describeeeee! The teacher are phsycotic like they actually need help!!! You get detention for any small little thing you do! Everything’s shit. U come late to lesson like 1 min late they give you a detention, and for asking why I have a detention you get a 1 hour detention! They ring parents for any small reason a they start to exaggerate. They ruin ur mental help an this is the cause why students don’t want to go to lessons an deal with these teachers which begins putting grades down. Going into tht one lesson literally means coming out with a whole hour detention an a phone call home. It literally isn’t the students fault cause it’s the teachers! And the head of years are supposed to support us but they r jus shit an do nothing there is literally no reason for them to be there. THE FORM TEACHERS ARE JUST RIDICULOUS THEY NEED TO BE SACKED

"Teachers are bullies! Poor management! "

My child attends this school and I advise any parent NOT to send your child to this school. From start to Yr 10 I have had nothing but misery! My child got bullied in first year I went in to speak with the year SSO. SHE did absolutely nothing! Was told I will get phone call to update on the matter, nothing never got in touch. Detentions are given to individuals and if anyone is near that individual they will also get it even if they haven't done anything wrong! Teachers are bullies, soon as they find out if a child has misbehaved they will never let it go and pin anything wrong on the child not giving them a chance to explain or see that they are even trying! I have rang in countless of times to speak with the current YR10 SSO and get told shes either busy and will call back or has gone home! Never do I get a call back! She has actually told my child off for coming home and telling me 'stories'( when they are actual facts.) And making the school look bad! Absolutely ridiculous!! The head doesn't want anything to do with any parent query so you are directed to the the Yr SSO who doesn't ever get in touch!! Poor poor management this school either needs qualified, respectful teachers who can handle situations in the correct manner or to be shut down!

"I can't even express how much this school ruins your mental health. "

Your probably reading this because your planning on taking your daughter here. Well I'm only going to warn you once, DO. NOT. TAKE. HER.

Unless your planning on punishing her, I'd say it's best if you send her anywhere but this school.
Here's a little context for ya:

This school may be the "amazing", " outstanding" and "perfect" school for your child, well believe me, it's not. If anything, it's the exact opposite. I don't want to sound mean when I say this (I do) but I would move in a heartbeat, No Offence! (Take great offence).

The reason why is mainly because of the people. And I'm sure many would agree with me when I say that LOTS of the students here are total jerks. They will bully you for having a different religion, pronoun, sexuality, ANYTHING.

I mean you can't even catch a break.. They will laugh at you and spread rumours like they have nothing better to do (which they don't) and I have no regret when saying I absolutely despise this school.

DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE TEACHERS.
The teachers are just as bad as the kids, believe me. They will not give a care in the world if your being bullied. The most they will do is put them in isolation and then let them carry on after 💀. Even if you complain to the teachers, they will pretend to actually do something, and then the next day they will literally forget your name (experience.) I personally believe this school is what a 4 year old would think prison is.

Now..the food. The meals are disgusting. And I'm not kidding, it tastes like left over prison food that even the teachers may refuse to eat 💀. Don't get me wrong, the drinks and snacks are decent (sometimes.) But overall, the rice is always undercooked, the chicken doesn't even taste...real.. And the people at the back of the line are lucky enough to even get a scrap.

Even the rules are horrific..
I mean- Getting a detention for not bringing your lanyard in? CHILL OUT. It's a simple mistake.. It doesn't mean we deserve a half hour detention after school. this doesn't help our "mental health", if anything, it scares us. We spend more time doing homework so we don't get a detention...hope your proud.

Even in lunch, if we don't bring our lanyards then we are sent to the back of the line. Bro.. It's not even a big deal. Just let us eat man 💀.
You do realise your basically punishing by starving us.

You also expect us to hold our bladder while in class? "You should've gone at break" well I'm sorry but our bladder doesnt have a certain routine Xx. Plus we are all women, we have something called a period..? I mean, if you want us to bleed the school down then that's fine but it's your choice if you want us to get an Infection.

Anyway. Hope you found my review helpful (UNLIKE THE LEARNING FACILITIES) and I hope you have a great day.

"Terrible school with wicked teachers and cruel students."

The school is terrible, in everyway. First of all, the school and teachers over all do not care about mental health. They preach that they do but they really don't, infact they make it worse, if you want to ruin your child's self respect, happiness and self worth then send them to this school. The teachers are horrible , they dis-encourage you, embarrass you, belittle you and make you feel worthless aswell as laugh at you when you don't understand questions instead of helping. They make you feel pathetic and useless when you get something wrong, and insist that you will never make it anywhere in life. I have heard of some students who were trying their best in school but we're told that during their GCSE's they would never achieve more then a 2. You are constantly compared to other students and the teachers don't actually care about your achievements if your an average student. They only focus on top set students or students who really misbehave and are loud. If you're a quiet, behaving student you are ignored and you don't matter to them. Those who misbehave are more likely to achieve less detentions then people who do behave because their small achievements are focused on by the teachers.Everyday you come into school thinking "todays a new day I'm going to do better" but then your teachers spend most of the lesson making you feel horrible about not knowing something. Teachers should be helping you and making you want to work but no, these teachers don't. Instead they criticize you. Not only are the teachers bad but so are the students. The students love to bully and make other students hate their life. They constantly distrupt others learning in class and mess about. They have no care for another students learning and love to make silly comments regarding other people right Infront of their faces. The teachers notice this but don't do anything about it. Some may even join in. Students try very hard and build up the courage to finally tell the teachers about these issues but then the teachers completely ignore the fact that it's going on or don't believe you. I'm not proud to say that I never felt safe in that school. Worst of all is that the teachers favour certain students and don't see treat us all as equals
I hate the school and I'm sure many others do too but do not want to admit it. Moreover the system is disgusting, the school is constantly making mistakes when it comes to logging down detentions and giving achievement points and negatives. When the school receives complaints, they just ignore them and don't do anything to fix the issues. They mistreat the parents horribly and make them seem stupid. I don't even want to talk about the school meals because they are atrocious but I will have to. The meals are either undercooked or overcooked and the dinner ladies are really rude. Theres alot more that's bad about this school but if I were to write all of it, it would take a really long time because honestly the school is THE WORST.
