This school is atrocious!!!!!

The teachers make the children stay after school just to redo their whole performance, this in my eyes is horrible. Expecting children to come to school on time and then lecturing them if late and then making them (WITHOUT A CHOICE) stay after school. Hun even Gordon Shakespeare from nativity was strict and he didn’t make the children stay behind, THESE TEACHERS NEED NEW TRAINING ASAP! i will be reporting this case to the government and making sure you will never and i repeat NEVER be paid again and you will be homeless for the rest of your dreadful lives! YOU WILL RUE THIS DAY (oh and i’ll make sure of it). Rishi Sunak will most defiantly not be pleased about this 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡!

"Do not come here"

A few years ago I made a review on here called ‘wouldn't rather be anywhere else’ or something along those lines. That was before I was bullied, sexually assaulted and much more. There’s a review further down about a ‘chemistry teacher’ and I know exactly what they mean, the day before her lesson I would take a handful of painkillers to make it seem like I had a bug and I wouldn’t have to attend her lesson. My bullies were also in this class so not only did I have to deal with her I had to sit there with the people who were making my life miserable. Some teachers are nice for example english teachers are usually kind but for the majority of my lessons I sit and watch the clock. I really wish I had applied to some colleges instead of returning to the sixth form. I would have panic attacks most days usually in form time as I would be dreading the entire day and I have had to go on antidepressants/anti anxiety for this. Up to year eight I was happy then things kept getting worse and worse and I saw the reality.

"St Bedes and St Josephs Catholic College."

I was a student here from year 7 to 11 and although certain teachers showed respect and genuine affection towards students the large majority of the staff are either willfully ignorant or cruel. I have seen bullying be brushed off by teachers (if they were even present to witness it as most of my lessons throughout the years were supply teachers and substitues. The councling was also terrible. From year 7 onwards I was exposed to other students doing acts of self harm as well as childish favortism from teachers bordering on flirtatious comments from adult staff towards the students. Highly reccomend you do not send your child here. They will either be ignored entirely by staff, held as a favorite student for nothing or treat as a trouble child for doing seemingly no more than other students. Often times students feel as tho there is no other option than to stay home. Ive seen many personal friends fall into slumps of depression or worse due to the treatment here. Again I re-emphasize DO NOT send your child here. There are plenty of other schools with higher standards who will treat your sons or daughters like people.

Side note: On multiple occasions I was witness to people unaffliated with the college climb over fences into college property and even throw objects over the fence to students during break times.

"Abt a 6 or 7 /10"

Honestly its an alright school but the slack teachers, dirty classrooms, and terrible classes make it a horrible place to be. And dont get me started on the amount of help with bullying and other problems. There is good and bad in every place like there is some good teachers and you can meet some really nice people there but, they expect you to do so much and the amount of pressure put onto you is unbelievable.

"Excellent School with a Great Christian Ethos"

I'm so impressed with St Bede's and St Joseph's. My child has been thriving here and the Christian values are wonderful. The facilities are excellent and the teachers are supportive and knowledgeable. I couldn't ask for more.

"A certain science teacher"

This is a good school overall, however I have had to mark it down because one singular teacher lets it down for the rest of everyone. I am convinced that this woman is a psychopath based on the way she has been treating us. I will not name her but she is teaching me a level chemistry and she makes me want to drop out and never leave my room after every lesson I have with her. She makes me want to give it all up just because of her degrading words and awful language when she speaks to me. She expects maximum respect when she treats us like s**t on the bottom of her shoe. We all just sit in silence not daring to move out of fear of what she will do to us if we take one step in the wrong direction. I’m going to be honest, a few times I have made myself ill before the lessons I have with her in various different ways, causing harm to myself because the mental pain I will suffer if I turn up to that lesson. I used to like chemistry till I ended up with her when I started my gcse course and when I finally thought I had gotten rid of her I thought I could love chemistry as much as I used to at sixth form level and then I saw her name in my timetable and I don’t think I got out of bed for a week it made me that miserable, two more years of endless hours in silence suffering day after day. If you have her, I am so sorry.

"Mixed Experience"

We're still early in our journey with St Bede's and St Joseph's, but we've had some mixed experiences. The school has a great Christian ethos and the facilities are excellent. However, our child's teacher has been inconsistent with communication and it's taken a few requests to get updates on progress. We're hoping this improves as the year goes on.

"Great School with Lots of Opportunities"

My child attended St Bede's and St Joseph's for a few years and had a wonderful experience. The school offers a wide range of activities and clubs, which helped my child develop new skills and interests. The teachers were always supportive and helped my child achieve their potential.

"What’s great and what’s not great about Sbsj "

I’m in this school and ever since I’ve arrived some teachers have been nice ngl. But the rest are mean. Always giving me detentions for no reason at all. They also don’t care about bullying. If ur caught bullying they’ll do nothing but if ur caught wearing ur coat it’s like world war 3 with them. The only thing I like forward to in school is seeing my mates that’s it. This school doesn’t bring me joy or anything like that.

"Wouldn’t rather be anywhere else."

Yes it might not be the best school for making your iq high and it might not be the fanciest school in Bradford but I wouldn’t rather be anywhere else. The environment is so lovely and the majority of people are very friendly as well. Even the most popular people will talk to you and have a laugh with you.I’m in year nine and the three years I’ve been here have been so memorable and fun and the class I was put in is amazing. It’s got a family feel to it for sure. I love it and wouldn’t go to another school for the world. I would recommend this school to anybody I believe you will get the best out of this school.

"The Truth about SBSJ"

It’s bad, the teachers pay no attention to the students unless there bright and lie about them at parents evenings to avoid conflict.
