"Rubbish!!!"

I do not recommend this school at all. Reasons for this is they are not experienced enough to control or guide a child. The school are only concerned about their numbers they report to the upper authority.

Toilets are locked because other children smoke in there, drugs and other paraphernalia are widely available amongst students.

Communication with parents is as and when suited to the teacher. If you call and ask to speak to a particular teacher he/she becomes a diva so you are waiting for ever for a call back.

Long story short what the school tell you at the beginning of your child education here is all a load of lies.

"My school review "

I have been at that school for less than a year and it feels like hell the teacher the rules and when u get detention ur parents can't pull u out even if it's important but some of the education is good but the phrase they told me is that u or anyone can be replaced like they don't care but know they have a new head and and don't know how he is he seems nice but I don't know anyway I know that this school puts way to much pressure on you

"Disgusting food"

The food is really not that good and not worth the money. The rules are too strict and detentions are given for even minor mistakes like nor having a white board pen like they run out. But some teachers are really great and care abt their students.
plus the dt facilties are amazing

"L school"

its meh.. been few years since i left so idk if much has changed, but it was like a prison… i think some detentions were ridiculous, like getting in trouble for not having a pencil, getting homework wrong (not common but happened to me…)
some of the teaching is good, but i think some teachers often would tend to take their frustrations out on students which wasnt great. when i started here it was just anxiety and fear everyday since they’re so so so strict, which continued throughout the whole experience for me - if you find genuine good lifelong friends it makes ur experience at this school lots better. bullying was common.
overall the schools decent, u get an earful everyday ab the values (dont care..) from higher up teachers- almost feels like they’re trying to hypnotise us lmao. if u work hard with what they teach u ull get good grades, some teachers were great and friendly whilst others werent so great, so if u get a good n understanding teacher youre lucky!
i get they put their methods into place to ‘prepare us for the real world’ but we’re only kids still (obv not in like year 11) and DCA made me fall into depression lol so..
if u want good grades go here (if u arent extremely anxious)
if u want to keep most of ur freedom go somewhere else lol

"Mixed emotions about the school"

We're still getting used to Dixons City Academy. Some of the teachers are great, but others seem a bit unorganised. The facilities are okay, but we've had some issues with the school meals.

"Incredible school! "

I joined in year 7 and I’ve loved everything about dca. Every individual is involved in lessons and the teacher ensures to interact with as many people as possible during lessons. I like the fact that in form we are given the chance to reflect and get prepared for the outside world! Dixon’s not only had me prepared for my GCSEs but prepared for life further, and I’m forever grateful. My lessons were enjoyable and when there was an issue I was comfortable to raise it. Dixon’s feels like a family, something that many schools don’t. I’d recommend it for everyone!

"Amazing original Dixons"

Such an incredible school with a welcoming ethos. Teachers care and will do all they can to get you the grades. New principle is so encouraging and interacts with students of all year groups. The school is outstanding in all areas from performing arts to science. I’m proud to be part of the school when I was and I miss the teachers a lot! Highly recommended !

"Upsetting environment "

It gets good grades but don’t be fooled. They have no regard for the mental well-being of students and care only about the final grade not what makes a good member of society or a health individual.
