John Ray Junior School is a four-form entry junior school in Braintree, Essex, catering for children from 7-11. We work hard to promote the social, moral and cultural development of children so they develop positive relationships with staff and each other to help them to build confidence, independence and resilience.

"A fantastic school experience for our child!"

We've been so impressed with the values-based approach at John Ray Junior School. Our child is thriving in their year group and loves the creative activities on offer. The facilities are also excellent, with a great library and sports equipment.

"A good but not outstanding experience"

We've had a mixed experience at John Ray Junior School. Our child has thrived in some areas, such as sports and music, but struggled in others, like spelling and maths. The teachers have been supportive, but sometimes communication could be better. Overall, it's been an okay school experience for us.

"Provided a solid education and lovely memories"

Our child attended John Ray Junior School for 3 years and we were really happy with the education they received. The school's focus on compassion, hope, and perseverance really resonated with us as a family and helped shape our child's values. We also appreciated the many extracurricular activities on offer.
