John Ray Infant School is a four-form entry infant school in Braintree, Essex, catering for children from 5 - 7. We are a calm and purposeful environment where each child is valued and feels part of the school community. Our core values of respect, honesty, caring, curiosity, fairness and responsibility are well known by everyone in our school community.

"Lovely school with a caring community"

My daughter has settled so well into John Ray Infant School. She loves learning about respect, honesty, and caring, and the values are really being put into practice. The teachers are supportive and kind, and the facilities are great - the playground is a highlight!

"Excellent education and values-based approach"

My children attended John Ray Infant School a few years ago and I was really impressed with the standard of education and the values-based approach. The teachers were always approachable and the activities were engaging and fun. I've heard the school has only improved since!

"Wonderful school, wonderful values"

My son has just started at John Ray Infant School and I'm really impressed with the values they're teaching. The teachers are all so friendly and the facilities are great. I love how they encourage the children to be curious and to care for one another.

"Good but some inconsistencies"

My daughter is in Year 1 at John Ray Infant School and overall, we're happy with the education and the values they're teaching. However, we've experienced some inconsistencies in the teaching and sometimes the classroom can be a bit chaotic. Still, the teachers are lovely and the children seem happy.
