Finchingfield St John the Baptist CofE Primary Academy is a small and growing village school. Our teaching philosophy is influenced by the foundational principles of Montessori education, emphasising the belief that every child has the ability to learn, explore, think critically, absorb knowledge, make informed decisions, and grow into respectful, well-rounded loving individuals within a carefully prepared learning environment.

"Wonderful Montessori Approach"

We've been so impressed with the Montessori approach at Finchingfield St John the Baptist CofE Primary Academy. Our daughter has flourished in the nursery and Reception classes, and we love how the teachers encourage independence and curiosity. The facilities are also excellent, with plenty of space for the children to play and learn.

"Great School with a Big Heart"

We've been really pleased with Finchingfield Academy so far. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the school's values of love, care, and respect are evident in everything they do. Our son is thriving in his Reception class and loves the Montessori approach.

"Mixed Feelings"

We're still getting used to the Montessori approach at Finchingfield Academy, and it's been a bit of an adjustment for us. The nursery and Reception classes seem to be doing a good job, but we're not entirely convinced about the effectiveness of the approach for all children. We're hoping to see more benefits as our child progresses.

"Excellent Nursery"

We sent our daughter to the nursery at Finchingfield St John the Baptist CofE Primary Academy and were blown away by the quality of care and education she received. The Montessori approach was just what she needed to develop her independence and curiosity. We only moved away when our work took us elsewhere.
