Richard Barnes Academy is a two-campus alternative provision setting supporting young people who need time away from mainstream education. Through a focus on being Safe, developing Character and encouraging Ambition, we provide space and guidance for our learners to re-engage with learning and take ownership of their choices, all within a caring and inclusive environment built on strong relationships.

"Some Positives, Some Negatives"

My child has been at Richard Barnes Academy for a few months now and we have mixed feelings. The staff are definitely trying their best, but we've had some issues with communication and consistency. That being said, they do seem to be making an effort to understand our child's needs and provide additional support.

"A Lifeline for Our Son"

My child was struggling at mainstream school and we felt lost. Richard Barnes Academy has been a game-changer for him - the staff are caring and supportive, and the alternative provision has given him the space to flourish. We couldn't be more grateful!

"A Fresh Start"

My son spent a year at Richard Barnes Academy and it was a real turning point for him. The focus on character development and ambition really resonated with him, and he gained some amazing qualifications. We're so proud of what he achieved.
