Main difficulty: Draconian and militant detentions.
Racism amongst pupils - not dealt with.
Very high turnover of teachers causing major disruption to learning.
Inexperienced teachers.
Patronising teachers.
Angry teachers.
Poorly run to non existent extra curricular activities.
Area: Behaviour support, Communication, Leadership
Example: One of my children never had the same maths teacher for more than 6 months for the whole 5 years they were there. My other kid wasn't able to take his favourite subject for GCSE because they didn't have enough teachers in that subject. They also pulled them out of another subject half way through the GCSE for which we never got a definitive answer. Racisim is rife amongst pupils and the school turn a blind eye to this as they dont want the bad publicity.
What could improve: A complete overhaul of the staff structure. Find a principal that actually wants to be there and for more than 18months
Impact on my child: Enjoyment, Academic progress, Social skills, Confidence, Independence. This school is militant and draconian. Relying on cold, hard discipline rather than engagement with the pupils.
The governers have a lot to answer for. Its a miserable place, with miserable teachers. Its a massive relief we can leave this dreadful school behind.
School responsiveness: Limited or unclear response
Inclusion support: Poorly
Summary: A school more concerned with its image rather than how well it educates.
Probably the worst school in its area.

My child has been at Skinners' Academy for the past two years and I've seen a significant improvement in their academic performance and confidence. The facilities are truly exceptional, and the staff are always willing to lend a helping hand. The values of curiosity, kindness, and bravery are instilled in the children, making them wonderful young people.

"Excellent Education and Enrichment Opportunities"

I'm thoroughly impressed with the education my child is receiving at Skinners' Academy. The sixth form is one of the top-achieving in the Borough, and the teachers are passionate about their subjects. The enrichment opportunities, such as the trip to Paris, are a bonus that my child will always cherish.

"Mixed Experience with a Great Community"

I have mixed feelings about my experience at Skinners' Academy. My child enjoyed the creative curriculum and the wealth of enrichment opportunities, but I felt that the pastoral support was sometimes lacking. That being said, the community is warm and inclusive, and I appreciate the emphasis on curiosity, kindness, and bravery.
