One of my biggest concerns is the high turnover of teachers and senior leadership. Since the school opened, there has been a frequent change in headteachers, with many appearing to remain in post for only a relatively short period. Even the current headteacher joined partway through the academic year. In my opinion, this lack of stability affects the school's leadership, direction and continuity.
I have also noticed that many members of the teaching staff appear to be newly qualified or at the beginning of their careers. While every teacher has to start somewhere, I feel there is a shortage of experienced teachers who can provide long-term consistency and mentoring. In my experience, many teachers move on after only a year or two, meaning pupils are regularly adjusting to new staff.
Academically, I do not feel the school goes beyond the National Curriculum in the way I would expect from an independent school. I have known families to seek private tuition to support their children in core subjects, which has made me question the value of the education being provided. I also believe there is a missed opportunity to develop Arabic reading and writing skills to better prepare pupils for secondary education and, potentially, GCSE Arabic.
I have also been concerned about Physical Education. My understanding is that PE is delivered by an external provider, and I question whether this provides the breadth and consistency expected of an independent school.
Finally, despite charging school fees, the school appears to fundraise frequently. As a parent, I have questioned why this is necessary and whether the facilities reflect the level of investment families are making.
Overall, I expected a much higher standard for the fees charged.
Area: Behaviour support, Communication, Leadership, Facilities, Inclusion / SEND, Academic pressure
What could improve: In my opinion, the school needs greater leadership stability, improved staff retention, stronger academic provision and better value for parents.
Impact on my child: Confidence, Enjoyment, Academic progress, Social skills, Behavioural changes, Independence
School responsiveness: Limited or unclear response
Inclusion support: Limited
Summary: Disappointing value for a fee-paying school, with high staff turnover, inconsistent leadership, limited academic enrichment and too much reliance on fundraising.
