Meadowbank Special School

Meadowbank School is a primary special school located on Colwill Road, Llandaff North, Cardiff, serving children aged 4 to 11 with complex learning needs and developmental language disorders (DLD). The school motto is 'Belong, Inspire & Flourish', emphasizing community, individual learning pace, and personal growth. Originally focused on Specific Language Impairments (SLI), the school now supports a broader range of needs including Autism, Global Delay, Down Syndrome, and physical/medical needs. The school has expanded significantly in recent years, with around 40 pupils enrolled as of 2020 and plans for further growth. The school has invested in specialized facilities such as a soft play area for gross motor development, an interactive sensory room, a children's kitchen to promote healthy eating and cooking skills, and outdoor spaces including a playground, adventure trail, fruit orchard, pond, and raised beds for growing produce.
