"Horrible school"

Horrid school, I have many doctors appointments during school times due to some physical issues I have, yet every time the absence has been unauthorised even with proof of the appointment being shown, they leave me to have anxiety attacks by myself and when I use my medical pass to leave lesson they make me go back to school few minutes after I use the pass. Practically everyone here are judgemental and bullies, only a select few are kind to others

"Review-Year 8"

Honestly bad, school doesn’t do anything about your mental health, some teachers are good but the majority are honestly really bad, would do anything
To get out of this school.

"Teachers read this"

I've got a friend who's in year 11 and goes to this school. She has a few behavioural issues due to mental health and this school has done absolutely nothing to even try and help her, the teachers are absolutely horrible to her and make her feel even worse especially when she's having a bad day and then gets screamed at, I find this ABSOLUTELY REDICULOUS because school is meant to be a place for children to gain education and get life skills and they SHOULDN'T be getting screamed at and excluded all over missing a lesson as I believe that teens mental health is the most important thing because your never know what's going on in someone's life outside of school I hope you read this review and think about how your members of staff are treating vulnerable children.

"DO NOT SEND YOUR KID HERE"

They use isolation for everything which doesn't help at all. Teachers only really care about education and not a students health, you can't go home if Ur I'll if u have a low attendance.food is terrible most days. If you talk to teachers about anything (eg mental health) they will tell your parents everything even if you told them not to. No shorts so gets really hot in the summer. Almost everyone is rude. You can never go to the toilet. They use the same punishments for everyone which obviously shows that they don't understand how to control kids, people who act out don't care about the "C" system or detentions so they will still act out and teachers still use the same old punishment like it's going to do anything.massive drug problem because the school can't deal with kids. Students who need help usually don't get help. And don't trust the A level result averages (they are smart at getting "troubled" kids out the school by sixth form so they don't have a bad grade average. Also teachers are just generally rude and kids are scared of most of the upper school team (don't know what else to call it).Over all just a terrible school

"Radyr Comp"

the school education system is a hit or miss depending on the teachers and the exam tines are too close to each-other, becoming very stressful

"Anti Social Behaviour "

I wish to know what the school doing about anti social behaviour around Danescourt by pupils of Radyr Comp.

At approx. 13.30 on 17/02/2022 in Radyr Court Car Park, Danescourt in front of CO-OP, I was subjected to aggressive, very offensive abuse from 6 or 7 Radyr Comp pupils. The boys form year must be 10 or 11.

As a lone vulnerable woman, I was deeply shocked, frightened and very upset by the unacceptable obscene language directed at me by the gang of young boys. One white boy (the alpha male) wearing grey jacket white hoodie fair hair in particular was extremely hostile and abusive.
I asked the school boys if they were from Radyr Comp to which they ran to corner of GP surgery and began further vile obscenities torrent.

LadyBird Day Nursery security camera overlooking Car Park captured the whole unsavoury event. The owner of Day Nursery, Mrs Jo Prior, confirmed if Radyr Comp or Police requested video evidence she will gladly provide.
I contacted Radyr School reception shortly after upsetting incident and explained what had taken place. I request Radyr School take immediate action.
I have also heard of egg throwing incident and fights.

"unfair , no support for those who struggle "

no support for the kids that have learning difficulties / behavioural problems, they just throw them into “isolation” for every minor inconvenience. Nothing done about bullying unless someone is physically hurt. Teachers make rude comments on pupils way of dress , looks , way of life etc and nothing is done about it. the kids are drinking and smoking on the premises at lunch and break although there are staff on watch. teachers like to pick on the students that have behaviour issues / learning difficulties , made a laughing stock out of a student mid mental breakdown after antagonising til breaking point. Staff watch and listen to pupils being bullied and don’t take action despite being contacted many times, some don’t even check their emails. some of the staff are really childish and would rather listen to rumours and get a laugh out of it rather than put a stop to it. they take no responsibility for their actions and staff come together to stick up for each other therefore no matter what, you will always be in the wrong and made to feel bad. kids with behavioural issues / bad mental health / learning difficulties made to work in the same room all day and not to mix with mainstream pupils etc their lunch breaks will be when the rest of the school has finished their lunch break so that the two groups don’t communicate. No cares given for working parents, the school will phone for little inconveniences asking to collect your child for things like wanting 2 minutes to themselves to calm down before they go back into the classroom. they class that as bad behaviour although they can clearly see how stressed a pupil is. This school loves the sight of a pupil in distress. gangs waiting outside the school to attack other pupils, there are kids getting away with smoking weed on school premises whilst there are kids in isolation for having mental breakdowns and being overwhelmed. Radyr doesn’t believe in change they will always treat students with “bad” reputations from past events with disrespect , these pupils will aways get more punishment than others even for smaller incidents. overall they genuinely do not care and are unfair to pupils that struggle. they would rather give the extra support to their best pupils that are expected to get good grades for the schools reputation.

"Great B&B"

Amazing bed and breakfast! Had a wonderful sausage and bacon bap for a start, the bacon was a little overcooked but otherwise very nice. There were quite a few steps around the building but it gets the steps up at the end of the day! Pizza and chips for lunch was fantastic, the chips didn't even get stuck in the back of my throat! Highly recommend.

"Don’t send your child here "

This school is rubbish, Do not send your child here, they do not help in anyway, I can guarantee your child will come home complaining at least 2 times a week about something that has happened that day wearther that be a teacher or a student Incident, and nothing will be done about the incident unless you ring the school a number of times (they most of the time do not return your calls when they say they will) unless you say you will get the police involved , the school and the headteacher (the headteacher never listens to the one way system and shouts aggressively at students for no reason/ the littlest things) as well as the teachers (also don’t follow the one way system putting your child’s health at risk becasue they think they are more superior ) do not care about the students , they only care about their reputation as a school rather than caring about the students mental health and most of the time refer your child to the councillor without your permission, many schools are better than this I highly suggest you send your child to another school unless that is not possible in the first year try to send them to another school at the end of the first year, it’s not worth sending your child here because they may have half a good well-being service and most children’s mental health deteriorates because of the lack of support, but they don’t do anything to benefit your child they would rather your child suffer in silence than help them they are stuck up and teachers tend to bully students and the teachers aren’t really trained they can’t help students when they should be able to, I highly suggest you send your child to another school rather it’s not worth it because they may have half a good well-being service but they don’t do anything to benefit your child they would rather your child supper than help them they are stuck up and teachers tend to bully students and the teachers aren’t real trained they can’t help students when they should be able to The school is highly disappointing and no social distancing is in place to keep students healthy whereas the lives there is it for schools

"Terrible."

Terrible wellbeing service. They don’t listen, and let me have a panic attack in a room all by myself. Instead of sorting the issues out, they put you in a small room and wait for you to calm down. They couldn’t care less about bullying, they care more about phones and hoodies. They put a lot of pressure on you, and really don’t care if you’re anxious or depressed.
