Fitzalan High School

Fitzalan High School is an 11–18 mixed, English-medium community secondary school and sixth form located on Leckwith Road, Canton, Cardiff. Established in 1953, it serves a large student body of approximately 1800 pupils. The school is known for its strong leadership, high expectations, and a curriculum designed to be flexible, challenging, and inclusive, with a focus on literacy and differentiated learning to meet individual needs. Fitzalan offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, including a Sport Wales programme to encourage physical activity. It has recently undergone significant redevelopment, including new sports facilities such as full-sized astro pitches. The school is recognized for its outstanding support for pupil wellbeing and its commitment to raising achievement, aiming to be among the top-performing schools in Wales. Fitzalan also serves as a HUB school for teaching and learning in the Central South Consortium and supports new teachers in the region.
