Cathays high school in general should be re-evaluated asap the school has a lot of kids goin there which are thugs and my son been threatened to be stabbed now today April 18th 2024 my daughter has worms through either there baguette bar or the toilets which she says are disgusting she won’t use them but yesterday she did now has worms now gotta give whole family medication I’m disgusted I complained in last 2 months loads bout the hygiene teachers just don’t care here about nothing I would not recommend anybody send ur kids here I’m rethinking it too

If I could give zero stars I would. This is a horrible, disgusting, vile school. Not a place to send children. It is more like a war zone the way the teachers behave and shout at students. To this day a friend has such a bad memory of an event that took place here that I am convinced she has PTSD because of it. The teachers are bullies, abusive and unfair to say the least. Avoid at all costs

THIS SCHOOL IS A BUNCH OF CRAP
My child suffered too much here I had to take them to therapy they still haven't recovered.My child a yr7 student was promised a welcoming start prepared respect and pride are all lies.My child was bullied she told a member of staff several times they ignored her the bullies realised she told a teacher so they followed hr home. The teachers seen then gathering outside the gates and the teachers disregarded the fact that a bubbling tension was floating around.SHE GOT BEAT UP.
Another issue is that they act so nice to your face but dont give the smallest sympathetic charecter to your face.They ramlbe on how they care about your health and well-being but if someone was really suffering they wouldn't really pay much attention to it leaving the students to deal with themselves
FIGHTS:
The amount of fights in Cathays is honestly disgusting if your standing up for yourself your in trouble if your getting bullied trouble anything you do comes with a consequence its really not fair, it makes the pupils scared to step out of line this isnt reslly what a school should be like the discipline is mortifying.No homework an after school No blazer a reflection if your late they get told they cant be late even with a good reason

Amazing school it’s muslim friendly but horrible teachers

This was, without a doubt in my mind, the worst experience of my entire life. There is absolutely no trace of care put into the students' wellbeing or education by any of the staff members. The "facilities" in this place have the quality and care of the street where Batman's parents got killed. About half of the classrooms are in the form of these dirt-cheap classrooms that look like caravans, with an interior with about as much soul as the rest of this school. Also, there was only one lunch queue for the entire school, so I would end up going hungry, or spending 20 years of your waking life just to get a fish finger that tastes like cardboard. Most of the students here have the IQ of a ham sandwich and have no issue with beating you to the ground if you so much as look at them wrong. I bet you're wondering how the teachers deal with this? By doing absolutely nothing, that's what, whilst they put you in detention (or "reflection", as they call it, to make it seem like what they're doing is actually benefitting you) for the most frivolous and petty reasons, like being late for your so-called lesson. Thank goodness I was able to leave after just a year and go to a REAL High School, but even then I had to attend therapy for 8 months, just to regain a fraction of my confidence. I feel that if I kept going to that absolute mistake of a school I would end up with a noose around my neck, and I pity the tiny handful of people who actually have potential that are stuck in this hellhole, and I admire the people who did the herculean task of going through this school unscathed. Seriously, you can't walk down a hallway for five seconds without some idiot Year 9 saying some sort of racial slur, death threat, or homophobic comment. The headmaster I had from the time I was there (2020 - 2021) honestly looked hung over half the time and barely ever even interacted with any of the students. Throughout this review, I have not spoken a shred of hyperbole and every word I am saying and have said is true. Every good memory from High School that I have comes from the one that I moved to, Cardiff High. I hope that you never have to set foot inside this barbaric torture chamber, and I will be so thankful and relieved if just one person is convinced by this "little" review I have made. In conclusion, I hope they burn Cathays. I have spoken.

Good school tbh but teachers are rubbish

Overall just a bad school. Did not know how to deal with teenage disagreements and just dealt with them by not doing anything and just let kids beat each other up and just used exclusion for a punishment for petty things like wearing trainers.
