Hounsome Fields Primary School

Hounsome Fields Primary School is a newly established primary school in Basingstoke, Hampshire, designed to accommodate up to 420 pupils aged 4-11 years old, with dedicated provisions for 8 special educational needs (SEN) places. The school was constructed to serve rapidly growing communities from two new housing developments in the area and has the capacity to expand to 630 pupil places subject to future demand and capital funding. As Hampshire County Council's first Passivhaus primary school, it represents a significant commitment to sustainability and climate resilience, designed to be carbon neutral by 2050, resilient to overheating and flooding, and incorporating energy-efficient practices. The school is part of a Climate Change Primary School Pilot project and sets a new benchmark for future educational facilities in the region.
