"Not good"
Better then most schools but is still shit. The nurses don't give a shit about you, if you're feeling ill? Drink water. They don't offer any help and most of the time are unavailable. Mental Health? Doesn't exist apparently. Teachers blatantly favourite others and some treat you like you are in year 2. Pe? No variation at all, you do the same thing over and over again. Shorts? Sorry gals, can't be grey even though boys literally wear grey trousers. Counselling doesn't help and the food most of the time is shit or you don't even get food because they ran out. Trips? Sorry year 9s, while the other years are going to rollercoasters or cinemas, you're still going to school. Oh you have a toilet pass or an early pass? Well so does everyone cause this school doesn't care enough to actually check.

"Never send your child here, Please anywere but here."
I left that school 2 years ago and the thing that I experienced still haunt me. Teachers lying to my face, ANC staff not knowing how to handle special needs childeren and even just yelling at an crying autistic student for not knowing how to answer a question insted of trying to calm the student down, placing male students in protection (anc) when other students fight then because they picked on the wrong person and (at the time dont know if they still have this) put the victim in correction, suspended or even expelled and so much more. Students being able mess with special needs kids and get away with it, favouritism and messing with security camera's and lie to parents about there child. And even handing an autistic student a application to change schools because they stud up to the teacher. Multiple times teachers have covered up inccidents when a student has had to go to hospital cause bulling got so bad.
Please from these experiances never send your child here. This place needs to get shut down.

"literally horrific"
the teachers are verbally abusive, abuse their power, threaten students, expel them for the littlest things, refuse to take in the fact some people have additional needs and get impatient with them, constantly lie to make themselves look a victim after literally forcing a child into tears for yelling and favouritise students extremely.

"DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE"
teachers could not care less about your children's mental health or physical at that, they tell them to get some water and if they're still feeling ill come back for medicine. also they cant organize anything if they had a plan set out in front of them, they dont even inform parents to events the day before.

"Don't send your child here"
I'd like to say good things about this school. Unfortunately I can't. My child has only been there for nearly 3 years, now in year 8 and quickly falling behind. My child is autistic, gets bullied everyday, is still awaiting counselling, and worst of all, doesn't feel safe In this school. Educationis politically based, teaching my child that there are none than 2 genders which is pathetically wrong. My child receives no 1to1 help which my child is entitles top, due to being on the SEN programme. My child doesn't understand half of what they teach, and what they teach is not consistent. My child doesn't seem to be acknowledged for good behaviour or trying so hard with the work set. That school cares nothing more than just for uniform and a military styled approach to behaviour and learning. I'm more afraid my child will fail their GCSE's when they come up, due to such poor teaching. Some teachers are short tempered, impatient and can't teach. At this stage, I may aswell teach my child from home, because no school in this area seem to be decent and so many have bad reviews. I've also seen the way they teach. And I'm far from impressed. I would t recommend this school to anyone. Especially when the PSHE teacher is teaching my child about more than 2 genders, and claiming pronouns revolve around gender. Where did they find this person. Politics should not be involved within an educational setting. And tk.xlaim they must teach it as its on the curriculum is a joke, surely a teacher should stand against that rubbish because it's wrong teaching.

"Bad School"
This school is just terrible. Bitchy teachers that favourite students more than others. They give you a "correction" (literally just a detention with a different name) for being one or two minutes late to lessons and talking when lining up to go back into lessons at break and lunch times. If you need moral support for some reason this isn't the school to go to. None of the teachers are the slightest bit helpful in any way.

"Do Not Send Your Child Here"
There a little to no positives about this pathetic excuse for a school. The only thing good about it was that I actually learned things, otherwise I would call this hell. Their organisation skills are the most appalling I have ever seen. I have 3 examples. 1. Every year everyone goes on a London trip. Every year they do last minute room changes. The first time they decided to change everyone's room just as most people were unpacked and were ready for bed. This was 10pm and we had to get up at 6am. They then switched us up between rooms multiple times to the point where we dare'nt go to sleep for fear of them changing us round again. We got to sleep at 2am. They also have a tenancy to change them as soon as we get there, leaving us all confused. They also tell us that everyone has to shower but they do not give us time as there is only 1 shower for 3 people and we have an hour to get ready. 2. A few years ago there was a incident which involved 5 students going to the nurse in 1 day with the same symptoms. Because of this they put us in lockdown, without telling us why or informing our parents. They told us we weren't allowed to use our phones and if we needed the toilet we had to be patted down to make sure we weren't sneaking our phone in. Everyone's parents were left completely uninformed and wondering why their child hadn't arrived home. Many thought it was a shooter or a stabber. After 2 hours we were allowed to go home and many parents shouted at the school for handling the situation so poorly. 3. My leavers day. On the last day of term, we were told we had to do normal lessons (despite us not having anything to do so teachers were scrambling for something for us to do because they had all planned for us to watch movies) and that no books were allowed to be signed as we would be coming back after half term so we woukd have time then. 35 minutes after the school closed we received an email telling us that that was our last day. They took away the feeling of our last day. They then said that we woukd have a "leavers day" where we woukd all be able to get our books signed. It was going to be an hour and a half. We get there and have an assembly and have a group photo taken and with no time to get signatures of anyone or eat any of the food they had prepared they tell us it was time to go home half an hour before we were supposed to. All the students were confused and then angry and complained. We continued the day outside of school. There are many other reasons why this school is bad so please, do not send your children here, you will regret it. Not just your child, but you.

"A Great Experience So Far"
Our daughter has been at Barnsley Academy for a year now, and we're really pleased with her progress. The teachers are supportive, and the Pupil Charter is a great way to encourage good behaviour and values. We're looking forward to seeing her continue to thrive here.

"Fantastic Education with Character at Barnsley Academy"
We're absolutely delighted with the progress our son has made since joining Barnsley Academy. The Education with Character program has really resonated with him, and he's become more confident and curious. The school's facilities are also fantastic, with plenty of opportunities for extracurricular activities.

"Room for Improvement"
While our son has been happy at Barnsley Academy, we've noticed some inconsistency in the quality of teaching and resources. The Music in Secondary Schools Trust program has been a highlight, but we feel there's more the school could do to engage parents and involve them in the learning process.

"A Well-Rounded Education"
We have fond memories of our time at Barnsley Academy, where our children received a well-rounded education that prepared them for their future. The Enrichment Program was particularly effective in developing their interests and talents outside of the classroom.
