"Outstanding School"

We couldn't be happier with Southmoor Academy. The school's ethos and values are outstanding, and the staff are always supportive. Our child is thriving in the Combined Cadet Force program.

"Fabulous school!"

Big, fat wow to all the faculty who works/worked at this school! I attended this school almost 6 years ago and my niece is heading into this school in September 2022 and I can not wait for her to get this education. The grades I got from my teachers and the effort which they put into my education and others is above and beyond. Never had a problem with bullying either and even if the school encounter a tough spot it was always picked up swiftly. I can not wait to send my future children to this school, I miss the good old days, haha!

"Some Great Aspects, but Room for Improvement"

We had a good experience at Southmoor Academy, but there were some issues with the Pastoral System. The school has made some great improvements in recent years, and we appreciate the support for students with SEND.

"please don’t go here "

i’ve been in this school since year 7, first of all i was heavily bullied in year 7 and they seemed to be on the ball. but this is the problem, the school care so much about the year 7s that they start to neglect their, more important, elder years. However, in year 8 a teacher started bullying me for my maths skills and i was picked on every lesson by the teacher and it started to upset me so my mam rang the school, they said they would look into it.. absolutely nothing came from it. she rang again a month later considering the name calling was still happening and again nothing happened. As well as this, there are frequent physical fights happening inside and outside of school and nothing is done to prevent fights other than the punishment of the aftermath. In year 9 and 10 i experienced harsh bullying from the older years as well as people in my year and i didn’t bother to tell teachers as it just gets ignored. but teachers overhead it, watched it happen and all of a sudden they were deaf and blind - they just didn’t do a thing. As well as this, around this time one of my friends had to move school because of how much they were being bullied. I’m now in year 11 and i’ve never seen so many teachers acting like their life is so much harder than the pupils, i have witness a pupil saying “i’m really stressed” and the teacher replied “aren’t we all?” then started ranting about their teacher problems. And to top it off, teachers do absolutely nothing to help mental health issues, in fact most people in the school don’t believe in them and turn a blind eye, they don’t have a single clue how to deal with panic attacks, anxiety attacks or anything if the sort and i’ve only met one teacher in the whole school that’s trained to deal with such.

"No ❤️"

Most of the staff are rude and don’t consider the students struggling with mental heath or family issues or bullying and only think for themselves. If a student shows signs of COVID they’ll send them back into the class to potentially infect more pupils, And most of the time we have to clean even though we have cleaners that are paid to clean. As we went back to school after the first lockdown they prices of food went up like there wasn’t a strain of money the smallest increase being £1.

"Not good"

There is no social distancing measures in place and staff just send pupils with coronavirus symptoms back into their lesson. Problems with bullying are never sorted and the food quality is very poor despite the school very recently changing the food system and prices increasing by a large amount. Portion sizes are mostly tiny. For example, you may get 3 chicken strips and some chips for £3

"very bad "

staff dismiss anyone who has symptoms of the virus and tell them ‘just go back to class, you‘ll be fine’. has been a positive case and the staff haven’t handled that well. staff don’t know how to deal with mental health and how the virus is effecting kids. no social distancing in place. i feel very unsafe at school.
