The Ribble Autism School

The Ribble Autism School is a co-educational special independent school located on Emily Street, Lostock Hall, Preston, serving pupils aged 4 to 11. It opened recently, having been first registered by the Department for Education on 26 June 2024. The school specializes in providing tailored education for children with autism, all of whom have Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans. The curriculum is designed to support communication, social interaction, and personal development, with in-house specialists such as occupational and speech and language therapists embedding EHC targets into learning. The school emphasizes building pupils' independence in personal care and social skills, including support with toileting and communication strategies. It has a phonics program for literacy readiness and creates a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment. The school was rated 'Good' in its first Ofsted inspection in July 2025.
