About New Barn School

New Barn School provides highly effective education, therapy, welfare and support for both boys and girls aged from 6 to 19 years who have social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), as well as other complex needs. The school places particular emphasis on collaboration. Our students move on comfortably to engage with education and reach their full potential.

"Room for improvement, but a great start"

We've been impressed by the enthusiasm and dedication of the staff at New Barn School. Our child, who has complex needs, has enjoyed the small class sizes and individual attention. However, we feel that the school could benefit from more extracurricular activities and a more comprehensive approach to safeguarding. We're hoping to see improvements in these areas.

"Life-changing for our son"

We were blown away by the nurturing environment and bespoke curriculum at New Barn School. Our son, who struggled with SEMH, has made incredible progress in just a year. The teachers are dedicated and the facilities are excellent - we've seen a huge improvement in his mental health and wellbeing.

"A school that truly understands children"

As a former parent, I can confidently say that New Barn School was a game-changer for our daughter. The staff are compassionate, skilled and genuinely invested in their students' progress. We appreciated the emphasis on collaboration and the way the school tailored the curriculum to meet her unique needs. We're so grateful for the experience.
