About Newsome Academy

Newsome Academy is a successful secondary school, set in fabulous countryside in south Huddersfield. We are very unique in the fact that we also have two specialist provisions – Hearing Impaired and Physically Impaired. These provisions allow students to be in mainstream lessons whilst getting the specialist support they need.

"A wonderful school with excellent values!"

We've been so impressed with the school's focus on Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Aspiration. Our child has thrived in the specialist provisions for Hearing Impaired students and the facilities are fantastic. The staff are all so supportive and enthusiastic - a great team!

"Excellent school with a great sense of community"

We had a great experience at Newsome Academy when our child was a student here. The school's values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Aspiration really shine through in the way the staff and students interact with each other. The facilities are modern and well-maintained, and the school's commitment to SEND students is particularly impressive.

"Good, but some areas for improvement"

We've been pleased with the school so far, but have noticed that the communication with parents could be better. The facilities are great and the staff are generally supportive, but our child has struggled with some of the homework. Still, we think the school has a lot to offer and are hopeful that things will improve.
