"Bullying"

I will be an unknown candiate , I was a previous student at Coedcae school, 4 years ago now.Still left with lots of trauma and unhealed damage the school left me and my family. My sister also attended this school , We came to ask for help and support and they shyed away or even admitting they had made any mistakes. My sister got name called by so called "Friends of hers" she had spoken up when she first felt issues and all they did was move her to another class once.My sister was called Negropheilla which is worst
Term you can ever use and These Friends knew the meaning ( rape of dead people). She also got pushed down the science stairs block and pushed dow the hill of the (Red gra).We contacted The head of year at the time. They wanted to refer her to calhms the mental heath service.my parents have paid for thearpy for my sister and she still struggles but a bit better. She barely leaves the house due to her anxiety this caused her of people and depression.she did at onepoint mot leave the house at ALL for 3 years. You should be ashamed of yourselfs as a school. You failed my sister and me.
When st john lloyds lost their student in 2018/2019 to sucide.I feared my sister would.Because of how bad here mental state was during that time.Schools need to do better.i also got bullied and harassed in school and when i asked for support they did not even address the hurt caused and heard other students struggling with the same issue. Some people are afraid to write reviews but im not.Should have done it a long time ago.
They preach mental health but will never try to understand it but thats why children fail in school.Happy children means safety and success. My sister was smart but she struggled towards the end and she did npt go college in fear of being bullied again.

sad world we live in.
Im not bitter anymore.Im disappointed.
You need to either improve ur standards // attiudes towards mental health and i dont mean just talking about it but with action.
Also i hope you make lessons more fun and carefree , you dont know what anyone is dealing with.Yes its a job but life is about doing what u can do to help.

"Needs major improvement"

I as the current pupil of Coedcae School, believe that this school needs major improvements. To begin with, it should be highlighted that some of their policies make absolutely no sense, and what is said in them is far from reality. For example, they claim they deal with reports seriously. I think it's time we see new leadership and new people which are trained in a more professional and effective manner. After making a report on a teacher and having my parents in, they said that they will deal with the situation and my mother requested to be notified of any further actions that will be taken upon the teacher. Months after months have passed and no update or progress has been made in regards to the situation. The bullying policy as well is kind of pointless and tries to make the school look like a friendly community, which again is far away from reality. If the policy is in place it should be followed not only by students, but staff too.

"Experience *****"

Not good at all. Don't go there. Teachers don't sort out bully, racism, homophobia ect. They won't let people wear Converse to school on 05/09/23- I don't know. Will not recommend you taking your kids to Coedcae Gyfun Ysgol. Worst school ever.

"Coedcae Student"

My first few weeks of being in Coedcae school was not that fun, i was bullied my first 2 weeks over and over and it didn't stop and at first they did nothing about it. But sooner or later they actually recognised and sorted it all, now that it has all stopped i am having an amazing experience in this school and most people here are lovely! i recommend this school because i'm sure once you join, you will succeed.

"do not go here"

teachers don’t do anything about bullying or racism. Education is horrible as in lessons, teachers are on phones and students are yelling. Nobody in this school has had a positive experiance. Fights constantly, with intense outcomes.
The school offers counciling, which all councillors clearly are not well trained. All of them will just nod there head and not actually say anything else, and then “confidential” is not actually “confidential”
you can get away with just walking out of class or skipping lessons, which is very common and even smoking in class has happened.
Not only is this bad but restrooms are very easy to unlock, and many students go around unlocking stalls just for the laugh. Nothing is done.
I have been threatend by a teacher. Safety is not valued enough.
Do not go to this school.

"REVIEW"

I as a current student of Coedcae school, am upset to be giving this school two stars.

I would like to begin with the bullying, I have noticed that Coedcae doesn't take serious actions against people that bully others, and ruin the experience and future opportunities. They may call in their parents after a while, but it'll only be a mini chat of approximately 10 minutes which doesn't solve the issue.

Secondly, racism. I personally experience quite a bit of racism by students and teachers. There were two times when myself and my sister received racist comments. After making a formal report and having an interview, no action was taken from my acknowledgement . I think it's RIDICULOUS

"would not be my first choice for my children "

it's an alright school, the lessons and teachers are pretty much alright for Llanelli. however their anti bullying policy is nonsense if you get into a fight, and you're throwing punches to defend yourself you will always be the one that is guilty and when they call parents in for a meeting it's just all chit-chat and politics. but politics doesn't cause real world solutions, action does that. and i have seen a comment on here about teacher favouring the more academically intelligent pupils. i did see quite a lot of this at my time in the school i have seen fellow pupils let down as teacher can see they were giving up because they were finding it too hard, and some teachers let them fail. before i had my GCSEs some teachers didn't give us past papers as i was even told "it would be wasting paper" what sort of attitude is that of a teacher. in my eyes, if you're that willing to give up on people so easy, you're in the wrong job to begin with. it's about time this school gets what it needs, a new leadership team. a new headteacher and an improvement pupil support program. and an anti bullying policy that actually exists. everyone is innocent until proven guilty, in this school you're guilty to begin with most of the time.

i am writing this review as i now have children of my own, and it has got me thinking would i want to put my children though this school and expect them to do well if they were struggling and every time i ask this question to any other former pupils over 70% say no
