"DO NOT SEND YOUR KID HERE"
I go to this school and they have literal gates on the toilets, the teachers treat you like shit and have no care for how you feel whatsoever.the equipment is awful and there is hardly enough of it.the food is really expensive and so is the uniform,it’s not comfortable either. They really couldn’t care less about mental health either, they alter how you feel and make you cover your problems, the teachers just don’t care.the medical officer couldn’t care either you can be sick over 7 times and they won’t send you home, the lessons are really draining and you can’t ask for help because the teachers scream at you for ‘not paying attention’ or will simply ignore you.You aren’t aloud to go to the toilet unless you have a pass or it’s break or lunch.and there isn’t many vegan or vegetarian options and all the food is undercooked tastes horrible and is way too expensive.

"Would read before sending child to this school"
Absolutely shockingly disgusting school. I would not even send an animal into this building. During my child’s stay at this school she has had tipex thrown into her eye whilst walking in corridors resulting in trip to hospital, no one was disciplined for this after cameras where apparently checked. Has been bullied by staff with ill, one wayed attitudes and ignored when my child has admitted to staff she was unhappy/ having problems in school bully’s are also not addressed by staff . I have also been fed false information by school when I have tried moving her and been told that all children who move from shuttleworth must have managed moves when this information is not true and managed moves where only introduced for children who struggle with behavioural difficulties. When a child who does not fit this criteria is put into this boat, it can have disastrous effects on their mental well-being and learning. I would seriously have a long think about the mental effects this school can have on your child before sending them here

"Excellent school for my child's last year"
Shuttleworth College has been an amazing school for my child's last year. The teachers and staff have been so supportive and helped my child achieve their best. The facilities are excellent, especially the sports centre and the media studio. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to have sent my child to Shuttleworth.

"A great community and great facilities"
Our experience at Shuttleworth College has been fantastic so far. The school's motto of 'Think Big, Chase Dreams & Succeed Together' really resonates with us. The facilities are modern and well-maintained, and the teachers are caring and enthusiastic. My child loves attending the school and feels part of a close-knit community.

"they try their best and I appreciate it "
they try their best, you can see that. but COVID ruined the food, one of the best things about it, and I was never going to find school fun, so I'm glad to have left and I wouldn't go back. but if it came to picking another secondary school for myself, I'd still pick this one.

"From an ex student "
I went to this school, I wouldn't ever recommend sending your child here, especially SEN kids. They pretty much ignored my needs, let bullying continue and were overall rude. I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and when i came in all panicky, I was told "oh well you don't look that anxious" or "That's ridiculous". I was told in year 7 to move schools when these 2 girls were bullying me instead of sorting it out properly. Some of the teachers were nice but unfortunately not all. I have a chronic illness called lymphoedema, i wear compression for that to help keep swelling under control. I was super insecure of my legs at the time, therefore wore tights over them. I expected the kids there to pick on my for it but as I was walking outdoors, the head of the school commented on it. "Are you wearing socks with tights, that's a bit weird". I explained they were medical and I didn't even get an apology. That made me a lot more insecure and didn't wear them again even though I should have. I stayed away from class for a while because of anxiety but music is my passion and I wanted to start by doing something I enjoyed. I went into music class after missing a lot of it and sat down. It was fun until the teacher told us all to use the book for sheet music. Me, not knowing we needed a book got scared but still went to the teacher and told him. He got mad and told me that I should've had it and it was explained by a different teacher. I still didn't know that book had to be in for that day obviously as I didn't go into class for a while. I tried to tell him that and he told me "You wouldn't say this to your math teacher, would you?" And how it's no excuse. May I also add that this was near the holidays so money was tight and we didnt exactly have the money to buy a music book. It wasn't that cheap. I didn't want to miss out on pe all the time because I love sports. I told her I couldn't do running because the doctor said no. She said to join next week because there'd be no running....The whole session was about running. I ended up having a partial tear to my achilles that I was told by students, I was faking. That's just a few things. It was hell there!
Thank you for taking time to read this, I'm only in year 10 but I feel like this needed addressed. Hope you reconsider your choice about sending your child to this school 💙

"Some positives, some negatives"
We had a mixed experience at Shuttleworth College. On the one hand, the school has a great ethos and the teachers are generally supportive. On the other hand, the curriculum can be a bit rigid and some of the facilities could be improved. Overall, it was a good school for my child but not without its flaws.
