Welcome to Our Federation West Leigh Infant School and Backwell Church of England Junior School formally federated in April 2013. The two schools serve the same community and indeed, the vast majority of children move from Year 2 at West Leigh to Year 3 at Backwell Juniors.

"Excellent school, wonderful community!"

I've been truly impressed with Backwell Church of England Junior School. The staff are friendly and supportive, and the facilities are great. I love the emphasis on a Growth Mindset - it's great to see my child develop a positive attitude towards learning. We're so happy to be a part of the school community!

"Some ups and downs, but generally happy"

We've had a bit of a mixed experience at Backwell Junior School. Some of the teachers have been excellent, while others have been less effective. The facilities are good, and we like the emphasis on sports and activities. However, we've experienced some communication issues with the school, which has been frustrating at times. Overall, it's been an okay experience, but there's room for improvement.

"A great school experience"

I have fond memories of my children's time at Backwell C of E Junior School. The school's commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment allowed them to thrive. The teachers were knowledgeable and enthusiastic, making learning fun and engaging. I would highly recommend the school to other parents.
