Nobel school in Lagoa is owned and managed by Globeducate, a company based in Madrid and ultimately owned by two private equity firms based in the US. The bottom line is profit; there is scant regard for the education and well-being of the children. The teachers try hard but they are poorly paid, without health insurance or a pension, so motivation is low. The school is now on its 5th headmaster in 4 years β that tells you everything. They have built a new section to expand the school to chase more revenue but have left the existing facilities to rot: no sports to speak of, dreadful theatre room, poor IT facilities, no shade, unsafe sports facilities. Numbers are dropping and the owners need to wake up.
