"2025 westgate updates read now!"

This school is honestly the worst, and this could lead to the current Y10 failing their GCSE. All the good teachers are leaving because of our new head of school, who has made the 5-star ratings drop down to a 1.9. There are subs the majority of the time, and they don't teach properly. Ever since Jon Gargan (head of school) joined, he has made a whole new uniform for the students, and it's silly because the Year 10s finish soon, and they had to purchase this expensive and irrelevant uniform. I believe the old black flowy skirts were suitable for girls, and the uniform has been kept the same since the school was made. Jon Gargan has made the school broke could be due to shut down (this will affect 10s) in a month's time. And he has cnaged everything about our school, and it's not helping the students or the teachers because over 30 teachers are leaving the school. Yondur pouches have been a thing since the start of Jan, and I think it's good for the students to study in lesson, but the con about it is that if something happens to the child , an emergency or something urgent, how could the child instantly contact their parents. Based on a true event that as happened a young boy was crying badly in their lesson and tried talking to the teacher to have a minute out but was refused and not allowed which i find petty.

"The westgate school"

Worst school ever , a friend of mine got called a twat by a food tech teacher and she said yeah that’s what you are and I’ll call you worse or something along the lines of that, what kind of tecaher says that to a child? I have no idea what the school keeps people like that woman employed because they sure don’t deserve it , what are they even teaching? They’re not there to teach they’re just miserable and sad and take it out on children because that’s the only people who “ can’t disrespect them back” it’s pathetic and sad

"Staff heading for the door"

Since September 2023, the school has been under new leadership with an authoritarian approach. Unfortunately, this has led to a significant exodus of teachers. Excessive micromanagement, relentless lesson observations, and rigid expectations have created a stressful and demoralising work environment. Teachers have little autonomy in how they deliver lessons and minimal input in decision-making or the overall running of the school. There is no sign that leadership are drastically changing their approach to staff treatment, so the continuing retention crisis is likely to escalate further by the end of this academic year.

"Mr gargen needs to go"

There are 3 teachers at Westgate that actually care about students, 3 that's f'in ridiculous, it's not even about learning anymore it's giving children hour and lunch detentions with isolation, they threaten to body search students if phones are given in, the smart students are praised and rewarded whilst regular students are punished and criticized. Mental health, bullying and well being are not cared for It's like Mr gargen said I want people to hate me, now we have line ups and if we miss those it's an hour detention. Lunch has been cut down even shorter again and the final countdown plays around 6 times every day. This song came out years ago locals can hear it from 8:30 in the morning, this school is a joke. I'm 99%sure Mr gargen has brain damage or something for the amount of rules he's adding.Westgate is failing with him here and he is accepting new students from everywhere and anywhere.making corridors one way and splitting them causing even tighter spaces and longer detours.Next you have teachers they hate students and we always have cover who give out hour detentions like Christmas presents. We are forced to take certain GCSE options and we can't chose some in the same block, like being forced to take French or Spanish, this is our future. food is ridiculously expensive a tiny pot of pasta for £2.50 absolute p!ss take. The medical lady would rather die than send anyone home, that's if she's even in, there are unqualified members of staff like math teachers checking students.they take our phones when we Aren't even on them.i mean if we can't get sent home and we feel sick what are we meant to do, I do not feel safe here.the last fire drill we had was around a year ago,we are unsafe and unprepared. If you care for your child even the slightest DO NOT SEND THEM TO WESTGATE.

"Bullying that is not being dealt with"

The Westgate School in Slough is renowned for its reputation to NOT DEAL WITH CHILDREN THAT ARE BEING BULLIES OR HARASSED. The teacher dealing with this is rude, condescending and does not help at all . They Do Not suspend the bullies or call them out - they make out the person who is being bullied is to blame. The heads need to get MORE INVOLVED and the school committee and council need to take Action Before a child hurts themselves.

"Unfair "

the teachers can be so rude to students thinking that there smart.
for free school meals you can now only get certain things, when this happens students probably starve themselves.
i go to this school and i personally dont like it.
if someone is bulling a student then they say 'if it carries on they will have a sanction'
i dont believe that because that happened to me and it hardly got dealt with and it still goes on today!!

"Outstanding School - Exceptional Experience"

"Not so sure "

Good school, my son goes there. Not as good as when my nephew attended there over 10 years ago but the facilities are modern, unfortunately the good teaching staff have left and the senior management aren’t very professional as the hardcore oldies that came before them. A French teacher named Marianne Goffard was more interested in selling her artwork to students than teach French. I attended a parents evening and she was showing all the parents her Oval glass or marble works that hang on walls than to talk about my sons rather poor performance with languages.

"Great Experience for My Child"

We have been really pleased with The Westgate School so far. The school's focus on community and the 'Westgate Community Challenge' have been a great way to get my child involved in extracurricular activities. There are some areas for improvement, but overall we're happy with the school.

"Worst school"

Dont go to this schoo l
As a father i would never let my child to be bullied hurt am sure you should not like that too

Fights vaping smoking in toilets
Poor staff
Students with guns knifes
If you check 50 students 40 will have vapes ciggerettes
The other ten wil be getting bullied
If your child is saying that he / she is not getting bullied m 100 percent sure they are getting bullied and dont want to tell you
Or the teacher because of the results they have to deal with in school

I would just say dont send your child to this school as there is 100 percent chance your child is getting bullied

"DO NOT GO"

The Westgate school is not a place to go to for the next five years if you care about your mental health. They expect you all to act the same and behave the same and I can confidently say there were only 3 teachers who honestly cared. Some of the teachers were rude whilst others were just out of order. Food is okay but hygiene is terrible. Unless you are perfect the school will ruin your mental health to the point where you just stop going. DO NOT GO TO THE WESTGATE SCHOOL!!1

"Excellent Education and Care"

We have a very positive experience of Westgate and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to other prospective parents. My child received an excellent education and the care provided by the teachers was always top-notch. I was impressed by the school's focus on reading and the high attendance rates of the students.

"Westgate School "

As a school it’s okay. Most teachers truly love their job and try their best to help the students. I think that a few of the newer staff are not so good though. The canteen is POOR with a very rude chef who when challenged about poor hygiene shouts down students. The food is terrible too , it’s needs to change.

"Former student review "

As a former student, I would say this school has its ups and downs. The food/canteen was poor with rude staff working there. When ever the chef was challenged about poor hygiene he would shout down the student and refuse refund. The teachers push you to do your best but some seem not to care and are just in it for the salary and holiday. The sports facilities are good but some parts of the school are run down and could do with maintenance.
