About The Lodestar Academy

Lodestar Academy, previously known as Burton Academy, is an alternative provision school for students aged 11-16 in Torbay, Devon. The school serves learners whose needs cannot be met within a mainstream environment, particularly those exhibiting social, emotional, and behavioural concerns, as well as young people impacted by traumatic life experiences. The Academy focuses on developing social, emotional, academic, and vocational skills, promoting key life skills to help students reach their full potential as learners and citizens.
