West Monmouth Comprehensive School

West Monmouth School is a state-funded, non-selective secondary school located on Blaendare Road in Pontypool, Torfaen, South Wales. Founded in 1898 originally as a boys' boarding grammar school funded by the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers using the estate of William Jones, the school transitioned to a comprehensive school in 1982 after amalgamating with local secondary modern schools. It serves students aged 11 to 16 and currently enrolls approximately 1,174 pupils. The school prides itself on providing engaging and challenging lessons with a dedicated team of teachers and support staff committed to innovative and effective teaching methods. Facilities include a modern music and performing arts centre built in 2001, considered among the best in the area.
