About Cwmbran High School
Cwmbran High School is a state-funded, non-selective comprehensive secondary school located in the Fairwater district of Cwmbran, Torfaen, Wales. The school was established in 1971 and educates students from ages 11 to 18. In 2015, as part of Torfaen County's 21st Century Schools Programme, Llantarnam School was merged with Fairwater High School to form the current Cwmbran High School on the Fairwater site. The school is one of two secondary schools serving Cwmbran, with the other being Croesyceiliog. Cwmbran High School features specialized provisions including a Hearing Impaired Base and an ASD Base, as well as a community swimming pool housed on campus. The school also includes modern sports facilities, including a MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) constructed in 2018 for football, tennis, netball, and basketball. The school's motto is "Strive, Achieve, Believe" and it is committed to developing ethical, confident, ambitious, and creative learners.
