Abersychan Comprehensive School

Abersychan School is an English-medium, co-educational comprehensive secondary school located on Incline Road, Abersychan, Pontypool, Torfaen, Wales. It serves students aged 11 to 16 and has approximately 745 pupils enrolled. The school supports a Special Needs Resources Base for pupils with moderate learning difficulties. Following the closure of Trevethin Community School in 2007, many pupils from that catchment area joined Abersychan School, which led to capital investments improving its facilities, including new classrooms, a sports laboratory, an ICT suite, an art and technology design area, a floodlit astro-turf, and a sports field. In 2009, a multi-media learning plaza was opened. The school has a strong reputation for supporting pupil transition and offers a range of general and vocational courses at Key Stage 4. It also has a history of success in regional and national competitions in various fields such as sports, design, and performing arts.
