About Lantern Academy

We are a small primary school nestled in the village of Ketley Bank and serve a community of wonderful, caring children from nursery age up to year 6. Our committed staff team are friendly, caring and work together to make sure individual needs are met ensuring that ‘every child shines’. We acknowledge the uniqueness of all children and get to know each and every one, along with their families, on a personal level.

"Exceptional School Experience"

We've been at Lantern for 2 years and it's been an absolute pleasure. The staff are friendly, caring and really know each child's needs. The facilities are great, especially the forest school and mini orchard - the kids love learning outdoors!

"A Home Away from Home"

We moved to a different area when our child finished nursery, but we were sad to leave Lantern behind. The values of 'Respect', 'Care' and 'Persevere' really stuck with us and we've carried them forward. The Headteacher, Michelle, was always approachable and supportive.

"Excellent Support for Individual Needs"

Lantern has been a godsend for our child, who has special educational needs. The staff have been incredibly supportive and flexible, and the school has gone above and beyond to ensure our child feels included. The curriculum is also really well-rounded and engaging.

"Room for Improvement"

We've had a mixed experience at Lantern. The staff are generally friendly, but communication with parents can be a bit hit-or-miss. The facilities are decent, but the school could do more to promote extracurricular activities and events.
