"Avoid at all costs"

Vile school run by incompetent fools. Pupils are the next lot of local prisoners in jails - they literally run the hellhole. Honestly the worst run school ive ever been in. Would avoid at all costs as the SLT and HR are the worst I've come across. The amount of agency staff and high turnover of staff should be a red flag as it is! Never mind their selective implementation of policies etc.

Honestly, anyone reading this please avoid this vile place if you value your physical and mental health. Oh yeah...teachers and staff are regularly assaulted and the kids are rewarded with hot chocolates by SLT.

"Send Help (And Heating)"

Attending the Observatory School feels like entering a live-action survival game. The heating never works, so you’re either freezing or pretending your shivers are dance moves. Smelly boys roam the corridors like it’s some kind of experiment in how long someone can avoid soap. And you’d better have ninja reflexes, because dodging flying pens, chairs, and occasionally shoes is just part of the daily routine.

The students are like untrained wrestlers with emotional issues. Arguments turn into full-scale battles before you can blink. One wrong look and someone’s flipping a table. It’s less of a school and more of a danger zone with maths lessons in between.

Leadership is pretty much non-existent. The place seems to run on vibes, panic, and someone shouting “deal with it” from a mystery office no one’s ever seen. If there’s a strategy to keeping the place together, it’s either lost or written in crayon somewhere under a pile of unmarked detention slips.

Every lesson is a gamble. Will you learn something? Will you dodge something? Will someone scream for no reason? Who knows. All part of the fun.

If you enjoy freezing classrooms, unidentified smells, chaotic energy, and being lowkey afraid of Year 8s, this is the place for you. Otherwise, good luck, and maybe wear a helmet.

"I observed madness here"

What a depressing place this is.

I’m sure there are worse places to work - like actual war zones, or psychiatric wards for the criminally insane (-but even then, there’s probably more intelligent banter and professional staff at such places)

Senior leadership - just abysmal and laughable in terms of their ability to ‘lead’. Pitiful.
Some of the TA’s - just daft little jobs-worths.
Pupils- 80% apprentice criminals and the bottom of the barrel Wirral has to offer.
Teachers - mostly depressed, harassed and having an expression on faces which says ‘please end this nightmare’.
Supply staff- a lot of supply staff here and an incredibly high turnover of such staff- largely because they treat them terribly.

My advice- fight tooth and nail to not have your child sent here. If you’re thinking of it as a place of employment- just don’t. You’d be better off digging ditches.

"Mad Place...a repository for Wirral's most loopy kids"

Locked fire doors, dopey SLT looking stunned, angry staff and psychotic deranged kids!
Welcome to hell...Wirall style!

Just go and enjoy the show imo

"A Wonderful Environment for Our Child"

I am so grateful to have found The Observatory School. The facilities are excellent, the staff are caring and knowledgeable, and the values of the school really align with our own. Our child has thrived here, especially in the nurture base, and we feel supported every step of the way.

I have nothing but praise for The Observatory School. My child attended the school for three years and made incredible progress in their academic and personal development. The school's commitment to inclusivity, creativity, and well-being is truly inspiring, and I feel privileged to have been a part of the community.

"A special place for special people "

If you want your child to be educated in door kicking, swearing, foul language and being generally aggressive and violent, then you have come to the right place!

Imagine ‘One flew over the cuckoos nest’ combined with ‘fight club’ and ‘Lord of the flies’…and you get the idea.

Senior leaders seem to be like rabbits caught in the headlights and spend their time teetering on the brink of having a complete nervous breakdown, whilst cajoling interesting characters down from the buildings roofs or barking random orders to the underpaid TA’s and zero hour contract, confused supply teachers.

A wonderful place all in all.
