"Not a school that cares."

Since the take over from the Howard Partnership and the new head, the school has become horrendous. Both my children, along with their friends come home distressed almost daily due to the unfair, ridiculous rules, the disgraceful way the staff are allowed to talk to and treat the children. It is NOT a SEN friendly school at all, although they like to masquerade as one.
The school is very much rub like a dictatorship now, and the children are treated as less than human.
The toilets are locked, even at lunch times.
They are not allowed to remove blazers, even in the summer, without permission (which due to some teacher on a power trip they are not always granted.)
The outdoor spaces have very limited covered areas, so regardless of the weather the children are expected to be outside in the cold, rain or snow. This leading to alot of sickness, which the parents and children are then reprimanded for.
From teachers clicking their fingers in the face of their students (on a regular basis) to teacher telling the student they are "not bright enough to follow the basics" I am utterly appalled by this school.
I have yet to meet a fellow parent who has anything positive to say about the school since the take over.
The new head treats the school more like a business than a place of education.

This is not a school that cares for it's students, their options or the parents. This is a school who treats its students as less than human and I am very glad that I have found an alternative school for my children so they will no longer be bullied by staff, and to send them to a school who puts their children's education and happiness first.

"Still getting used to the school"

We're still getting to know Oxted School and it's been a bit of a mixed bag so far. The school seems to have a lot to offer, including a great range of facilities and a strong focus on British values. However, my son has struggled to settle in and the communication from the school could be better. We're hoping things will improve as we get to know the school better.

"A good school with room for improvement"

My daughter attended Oxted School from 2018 to 2022 and we had a generally positive experience. The school has a lot to offer, including a strong focus on disability awareness and a great range of extracurricular activities. However, we did find that the communication from the school could be better at times and the homework load was sometimes overwhelming.

"A great school with a strong sense of community"

We've been really happy with Oxted School so far. The school seems to have a great sense of community and the teachers are all very approachable. My son has settled in well and is enjoying the music program that's on offer. We're looking forward to seeing him thrive at the school.

"Excellent facilities and supportive staff"

My son has been at Oxted School for the past four years and we've been thoroughly impressed with the facilities, the teaching staff, and the values the school promotes. The sports facilities are top-notch and have helped my son develop a passion for football. The teachers are always available to discuss my son's progress and offer support when needed.
