About Cockburn Reach Academy

Cockburn Reach Academy is a forty place, special school for pupils aged between five and eleven years old. All of the pupils who attend Reach are dual registered with their referring school and all have SEND needs. Our aim is to reengage them with education and prevent them from being suspended or permanently excluded from mainstream primary school.

"Life-changing experience for my child"

My child has been to Cockburn Reach Academy for a few months now, and it has made a huge difference in their life. The staff are incredibly supportive, and the values of Include, Engage and Celebrate are truly embedded in the school. My child was struggling to cope in mainstream school, but now they're thriving with the help of the Reach team. I couldn't be more grateful.

"Excellent support for children with SEND"

I sent my child to Cockburn Reach Academy when they were struggling with their mental health, and it was the best decision I ever made. The staff were incredibly understanding and worked closely with me and my child to develop strategies to support their needs. The school's values of Include, Engage and Celebrate really shone through in the way they treated my child and helped them to feel included and valued.

"Mixed experience so far"

My child has been at Cockburn Reach Academy for a few months now, and it's been a mixed experience. The staff are friendly and the facilities are good, but I've found the communication with the school to be a bit hit and miss. I've had to chase up a few issues, but overall, I think the school is doing a good job in supporting my child. I just wish they'd be more proactive in keeping me informed.
