"Excellent Support for Our Son's Needs"
"Outstanding Education and Opportunities"
"Worst school in South Tyneside"
Threatened to be put on pastoral staff if I didn't do well in a test,
Getting a detention if your pen runs out of ink or you loose it,
And that's only the start, they say they take bullying ''seriously'' but at break time the teachers are just sitting there on there phone while they should be keeping a close eye on students. 2/3 of teachers are unwelcoming, mean or just generally trying to ruin your day. Food is a overall 5/10 as sometimes they can have quite nice food but the portion sizes are too small and once I was given a tiny packet of fries for lunch. They have little to no learning support. I don't know too much about Academics so I will give it a 6/10. Facilities and After school activities and Facilities are quite impressive though apart from the playground which is the worst I have seen ever, nothing to do and you aren't allowed to run. For this school, I will give a 4/10
"slayera"
"was awful "

"Love it"
"Don't bother with jarrow school"
The teachers don't even try to contact the chaos around the school and when they do try it only results in problems escalating. Some teachers are also ridiculously strict handing out detentions if a student is a minute late or walking in the corridor in the 'wrong' direction.
If your child falls under any of the LGBTQ+ spectrum keep them far away from the school. Students who identify as part of the community, expecially trans gender ones will be harassed by the student body. Homophobia is also rampant in the school and this isn't help by the lack of consequences on the subject. Being a student who falls under this group my self I have experience all of this first hand.
Jarrow school practically encourages bullying or does nothing to stop it and simply turns a blind eye. Once again from personal experience with the school it took a parental figure to walk into the school and demand I was allowed before the school even dedicated them selves into looking into the case and this isn't a one off event ever. I know of several other students who have not trusted the school to sort the bullying problems and there for don't bother to even tell them. Returning to my story onec again The only way I managed to stop the bullying was to befriend my bully, I'm my opinion no child should have to befriend a bully because the school won't stop the bullying when asked.
Mental health issues are over looked. I beg you if you know you child is autistic or suffers from Mental health issues please don't send them here practically no help is offered unless it a learning disability and even then some students are still rejected the help they need.
Another thing is the fact the school on multiple times has had accusations of Sexual harassment which have never been dealt with as its primary happens out side of the school and then when these activities do become something more serious the school continues to turn a blind eye.
These are only a small list of things I have seen and heard during my time at jarrow. Other things Include:
Weapons e.g. knives and airguns and more,
Teachers abusing there Power,
Poor and a lack of communication between the staff and students,
Teachers deeming it okay to use racial slurs,
And teachers not taking student complaints seriously.
"Shite"
"honesty from an english teacher"
If you’d like a list of incidents that have caused me to feel this way i’ll bullet point below:
• Head teacher (who will remain nameless) is extremely condescending and treats staff differently depending on how much she likes them
• It’s been a while now but a few years ago i got called to the male students toilets to guard it because one of them took a poo, in the urinal.
• Students are constantly being removed from my class into other classes at their parents request pretty much because the students don't like that i won’t tolerate bad behaviour
• Bikes being stolen on school premises when locked up “safely” and the school refusing to pay the poor victims
• My fellow english teachers trying to justify the use of the N word when reading out certain texts and novellas. There isn’t an excuse, it’s not for historical context, you can still skip the printed word. It’s plain racist.
• I’m called to help up break fights constantly.
• Kids have made inappropriate and sexual harassment type comments about me.
"School that will act their the victim "
