"Disappointed"

Unfortunately, my experience at Scholes Junior and Infant school in Holmfirth has led me to believe that the institution has adopted a business-like approach, which negatively impacts the educational environment.

I have observed that some teachers exhibit a lack of patience, often resorting to shouting at students rather than employing constructive methods of communication and discipline. This approach does not foster a nurturing learning atmosphere.

Additionally, there appears to be an insufficient response to bullying incidents. It seems that parental involvement may influence the school's handling of these situations, leading to perceptions of favoritism that undermine the integrity of the institution.

Moreover, volunteers, who play a vital role in supporting the school, seem to lack proper training and guidance. They are often left without clear direction and are expected to complete tasks that should be managed by the teaching staff.

I hope that the school can address these issues to create a more supportive and effective educational environment for both students and staff.

"A good school, but room for improvement"

We've had a generally positive experience at Scholes Junior & Infant School, but sometimes feel that the school could do more to communicate with parents. The children are happy and the staff seem committed, but we've had a few issues with organisation and timetables. Overall, a good school that could be even better with a bit more effort.
