The King Alfred School an Academy

This school allows bullying and physical/sexual assault, this hasn’t happened to me but i know many people that have claimed this. The teachers don’t care about the students mental health one bit. I know people who have been uncomfortable around specific teachers that have made comments about their body’s and appearance. I have had manny anxiety and panic attacks
in this school and teachers will do nothing to help. My confidence went down so much and my anxiety got so much worse that I made the decision to leave this school. My brother and sister both also had bad experiences in this school, my brother got in a fight and was being strangled on the floor and the teacher in question decided to give my brother a detention for disrupting the lesson. Go to this school at your own risk ⚠️

this is the worst school i’ve ever been to. the school does not care about students wellbeing at all even though there are posters about it everywhere. teachers told me i was being dramatic when i said the school makes me miserable. most off the staff here aren’t nice and frequently shout. bps spend more time guarding the harrington toilets than actually helping kids here. the students here aren’t nice at all and the teachers here don’t care in the slightest. a lot of people i know have been/ still get bullied and the school doesn’t do anything to help or stop bullying. the teachers here only care about uniform not more important things like: our education, mental health, bullying (etc). the punishments here are very unfair and i will give you a fake example (because people would know who i am if i use the real example). so if someone came up to you then punched you and you obviously hit them back you’d be punished worse than them for ‘retaliating’. does that sound fair to you? didn’t think it did. but seriously whatever you do don’t send your kid here.

This school is honestly a massive joke. You are taught there is only one right answer and the fact that you are not aloud to defend urself when it comes to “the teacher is always right” the teachers are aloud to wear whatever they want to keep warm but students are only aloud a thin jumper to keep them warm. They care more about their own well-being then the students that are there. My daughter has told me that she has reported someone being racist towards her and they have done nothing about it ( reported more than 2 times) but as soon as she does something wrong they pull her out straight away. She was accused of something she didn't do but got in-trouble and the boy admitted he lied and nothing was done. She was locked in the changing rooms and was apparently told she skipped, the pe teacher said she knew she was in there the whole time but didn't let her out honestly a joke. dont recommended

My daughter joined TKASA in Year 7 and has thrived academically and socially. The school's values of respect, tolerance, and courtesy are truly evident in the way the staff and students treat each other. We're particularly impressed with the extracurricular programs on offer, including the Duke of Edinburgh Award and the Young Carers group.

We're pleased with the academic standards at TKASA and the teachers seem knowledgeable and enthusiastic. However, we've had some issues with communication from the school and it can feel a bit impersonal at times. The facilities are great, especially the sports facilities, but we wish there were more opportunities for parents to get involved in school life.

don’t send your kids here, especially if they are struggling mentally or are a person of colour. if your child has issues regarding mental health, the school will send them to the one teacher they have for that and all she really does is make you feel guilty. theres also a huge amount of bullying when it comes to race. my family is south asian (pakistani) and there were many racist remarks and jokes made by students and the teachers could hear them all and did nothing. in year 8, the students are taught about black slavery. when taught about it, one of the teachers (white) said the n word as an “example” when there was honestly no reason for it, especially when there was a mixed race black kid in that class who could have said it instead. it was as if he was looking for an excuse to say it. it’s honestly disgusting how much they clearly don’t care about other races, and how they excuse racist behaviour, even in staff. if you are a person of colour, don’t send your kids to this school. both the students and teachers will make it incredibly difficult for them to even want to continue going there.

Dreadful.Only care about uniform and exam results.

Terrible school-they only care about the uniform and their image a student was being stalked and all they cared about was how bad it made them look.

My son attended TKASA from Year 7 to 11 and it was an incredible experience for him. The school's emphasis on pastoral care and well-being really supported him during some challenging times. I'm so grateful for the opportunities he had to develop his interests and talents, and I think he's become a more confident and capable person because of it.
