"DONT GO TO HEWORTH GRANGE"

They will shout at you for anything, grab you for no reason and even if you tell them to stop touching you they will scream at you they don't care about your mental health you could be struggling so badly and they don't care there is only 2 teachers that are good in that school and they talk about students in horrible ways. Pitstop/haven gave my friend a hour detention because she was eating (she has a eating disorder) i spoke to the teacher and she said "well everyone else can eat outside haven so why can't she" i think this was so disgusting because they pick who they like and don't its horrible i have had some terrible experience here and bulling and they just make everything worse or do nothing about it! DON'T SEND YOUR CHILD HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT THEM UPSET ALL THE TIME!!!!!

"disgusting school"

wish i could make it 0, this is a terrible school, teachers are disrespectful if children with problems don’t behave they don’t give them a chance to get food, the children bearly get a opportunity to learn because the teachers just give them work and expect them to do it without any explanation how to. disgusting 😑😑

"Haworth Grange sucks"

This is school is terrible. School bathrooms stink and bathroom floors are covered in toilet water. Toilet bins are overflowing with rubbish (pads , tissues , etc) and toilet seats are sometimes covered in piss as we have to share with the boys. Toilet doors and walls are covered in offensive writing (slurs , insults , etc).

Teachers abuse the warning system (giving out negatives and warnings for little to no reason) and treat pupils unfairly (basically creating islands between pupils they like and dislike , especially the PE teachers).

Hallways are small /narrow so they get packed easily. Stairways are small and narrow which is quite dangerous when over 30 kids are going down them at a time. Even if your sick they won't send you home , as the schools attendance is really bad , leaving unwell children making other children sick.

Reflection can be a dehumanising experience as you just sit there in silence , sitting Infront of a carved up dirty plastic desk in a white room with the blinds down.

I got reflection and 1 hours detention for "hiding in the toilets" even though I explained to them that I was on my period (I had a very painful period) and that I felt dizzy (like I was gonna pass out) and sick , so I was sitting in the toilets waiting for my mam to come pick me up. Instead I was greeted with banging on the toilet door then brought up to reflection. After reflection I tried to go home but they told me to "soldier on". I kept losing my balance for the rest of the day and felt like I was on the verge of throwing up. They didn't notify my parents that I had a detention so my parents did not know I had one and neither did I because why would you punish someone for being sick??

The day before that happend I was sent up to reflection by one of the PE teachers for "refusing to do PE". I couldn't do PE because I was on my (painful and sickly) period and I have something wrong with my knees (wonky) so it usually hurts to run , jump , etc. Plus I have flat feet , asthma and weak ankles. According to the PE teacher I refused to get changed for PE (I don't do PE) even though I didn't "refuse" I just told them "I don't do PE miss" and I was told to go to reflection so I did.

That same teacher treated one of my friends unfairly as , for some reason , they didn't like her. She was told to swap seats with a guy who had been causing trouble in the classroom. Just so you know there was literally an empty seat next to her and all over the classroom as it isn't a big class , also me her and other friends were all sitting together so she didn't want to be the only one sitting alone. ( C1 , C2 , etc are warning/ negatives) She asked the teacher "What have I done?" And she got a C1. She moved but forgot her bag so she got up to get it , C2. Then she asked the teacher again "what have I done? I was just getting my bag" , C3. Then later on in the lesson she said yippee , not even loud it was a whisper and got sent out. She had an hour detention the next day. Bearing in mind there were people throwing books and chasing people across the classroom but they didn't get a warning. The teacher then made a new "seating plan" and the only person in the classroom who had moved was my friend. Basically creating islands which the school is supposed to be against.

If you need mental health support or support in general you can either stay in Pistop all day and not get a proper education or go to your lesson without support. You don't really do work or get help with work in Pitstop which is why loads of kids go there everyday. I love pitstop but have been taking off the list and can only go on a Thursday. I need Pitstop as I have Misophonia and probably have undaignosed mental problems but can't go. I used to go in year 8 to escape the noisy classroom but now I have to choose between skipping the lesson or going to the lesson and coming out of it with teary eyes.

You have to be really careful about what you say in school. Confronting someone or saying one little thing can get you jumped or bullied. Most pupils have a very big ego and are so full of themselves that it really annoys me. But most kids are not from good places as this school basically accepts the ones that couldn't get in anywhere else. It's full of council home kids , fatherless kids , lots of special needs kids , etc. So the place is basically a hell hole filled with all the unwanted people.

Not many places to sit at lunch time. For some odd reason they unscrew caps off of the bottles before giving them to students?? Like bro why??? That's probably the reason there's so many spillages. Meat sauce is terrible with the pasta. Chicken burgers are either overly the top spicy or no spice at all. At least the food is alot less stale than it was in year 7 (I'm a year 9). 4/10.

I could say so much more but I've already wrote alot and my fingers are starting to hurt.

"School leaves me Apolled"

I have only been in this school 5 month and since I’ve been there nothing good has occurred 2nd week in I got swore at by a sience teacher then my H.O.Y left the school and then we got a new one who screams at us every morning for example not having are boots polished or are advisory line not being straight enough . One of the worse things that bother me hear is the toilet issues we get two chances to use the toilet break time and dinner time 1 the toilets aren’t even clean coverd in wee graphite on the walls ceiling tiles missing there’s never been soap in the toilets the full time I’ve Been there to bairing in mind there is only 14 toilets available at breakfast time and lunch time 7 girls 7 boys and there is 1,500 people at breach time and only that many toilets there is never enough time for us to go . And at lunch time yr 7,10,11 all have dinner at the same time leaving us no time again so then people walk out of class because there didn’t for the toilet so badly but then get to the toilets for them to then be locked shut with shutters !!! So then for walking out of class because you have had a basic human right you get sent to reflection for the rest of the day then to complete a 30-60 min detention. They say we carnt open the toilets during lesson because students will use it as an advantage to get out of class well Mabey if the teachers were nice to the students and the class rooms were clean and. Dull and never made learning so boring and actually tried making the student enjoy coming to school then they wouldn’t want to get out you’re lesson at skip in the toilets. Not saying every person that is a teacher are all horrible definitely not but Mabey If the government wasn’t so cheap they and out there wages up they wouldn’t be so miserable and the cleaners would actually put some more work into cleaning and the school could afford to gets some clean tables that aren’t coverd in chewing gum because it’s about time they did no wonder people are off the hygiene in class room is disgusting. DO NOT SEND YOURE CHILD HERE !!!!!!

"Excellent Education with Room for Improvement"

We moved our son to Heworth Grange a few years ago and have been impressed with the education he's received. However, we feel that the school could benefit from more diversity in its curriculum. Overall, a great school with some areas for improvement.
