About Castleward Spencer Academy

Castleward Spencer Academy opened in September 2021 as part of Derby City Council’s development plan for education in the Castleward area of Derby. This is part of a local regeneration plan. It caters chiefly for the educational needs of the children from the new homes being built in the area and will strive to be central to community development.

"Outstanding Education and Facilities"

As a parent, it's wonderful to see the academy's commitment to providing a first-class education for our children. The school's focus on community development and partnerships with local businesses is truly inspiring. My child loves the new playground and I love the regular updates from the teachers.

"Exceptional Education in a New Community"

I'm so impressed with Castleward Spencer Academy - the staff are so supportive and the facilities are modern and well-maintained. My child has settled in quickly and is thriving in their new school. The trust's values really shine through in the way they engage with the local community.

"Mixed Experience"

We moved out of the area before our child completed their time at Castleward Spencer Academy, so I can only comment on our experience during the initial years. While the staff were friendly and the facilities were good, I felt that the curriculum could be more flexible to accommodate different learning styles.
