Ysgol Betws-y-Coed

Ysgol Betws-y-Coed is a County Primary school serving nursery class through year 6 students in the upper valley of the river Conwy in Wales. It is part of the Capel Coed-Elan Federation, a federation of three small rural schools that includes Ysgol Dolwyddelan and Ysgol Capel Garmon. The school operates as a Welsh, co-educational daily school with a strong emphasis on the Welsh language and creating a Welsh ethos. With 19 students and two full-time teachers plus a Strategic Head responsible for all three federated schools, the school provides personalized education in a close-knit rural community setting. The curriculum includes direct disciplinary and multidisciplinary teaching in the mornings with cross-curricular learning through themes in the afternoons, with particular emphasis on mathematics, numeracy, and water safety as part of the national swimming syllabus.
