"Hell on earth"

I went to this school years ago and it was terrible. I was bullied by a couple of teachers from my first day. I almost decided against college because my experience of education was so traumatic. I'm in my thirties now and looking back, I can't understand how none of the staff were able to see I was struggling with something, no one ever offered to help or listen or anything. Send your kids somewhere else, anywhere but here!

"Some of the most feral kids in the country."

Feral and scruffy kids all over the place in this schools uniform. Foul language childish behaviour and a total disregard for anybody else. Spitting throwing food banging on peoples windows on their way to and from school and nothing seems to change. Kids being dragged up not brought up. Future prisoners.

"Whitcliffe? No. Shitcliffe!"

I'm a year 10. I get bullied by students and teachers. The SEN support is horrible. The classrooms are depressing and there's minimal club options. This school is setting us kids up for failure keep your kids away. Get them in spen Valley high-school, BBG or brighouse high. And they only just did the first drill for if someone broke in during school hours. Their 'boneless' fish not only tastes horrible but almost made me choke. The food is disgusting and greasey. They offer very little vegetable choices. They do offer vegan food but not plain veggie stuff and the vegan food is always quorn.

"Shocking"

Horrible school, my daughter was bullied for having anxiety, my other daughter was made to stay in menstrual stained clothes alday, was told its her fault, the children don't get time to eat lunch and some of the teachers speak to children like they ate dirt, new head teacher is slack and doesn't do nothing about the issues raised

"It’s just so shit"

Mental health is destroyed at this school. Detention for having 2 ear piercings in. Don’t reason with students. Has shit food. Can’t walk with more than 2 people in the coridoor. They care more about how you look than how you feel. Worst school in wes Yorkshire.

"Don't bother with this school"

Some of the staff are odd and turn things around on you by lying to your parents about problems you are having in school. The school environment is not very nice, it is a weird place to be and I left after a short time there you don't get any kind of support from the head of yr10-11 who is rude and smug.

"The worst school i have ever known"

shocking treatment of the children before, during and after lockdown. Supposed to have a councillor there for the children suffering different dilemas - where are they? Utterly unbelievable the reports we have been hearing and these are not new, this is after my relative left and trouble is still ongoing; taking mobile phones off children and keeping them overnight. my friend's child had her bank card and weekly bus pass in the wallet taken from her by a teacher and had to walk home in the dark from school alone for 2 miles. The receptionists are no good either, lots of lying going on by staff and teachers, cover ups galore, know this to be true from other parents. Thank god my offspring is now at another school and doing well and IS HAPPY. whitcliffe needs closing down

"Approach with caution"

This school is appalling, they don’t take issues seriously at all. My head of year spoke to me like I was 10 and would not sort any of my issues out. I got sexually harassed by a few of the boys here and asked for nudes and my head of year saw the messages and said “I’m sure he didn’t mean it like that” I wasn’t here for long thankfully but they don’t appear to know what their own students are like and dismiss any problems. I got proper bullied at the beginning of year 11 by boys over a false rumor one of them made up and my head of year tried to make out as if it was sort of true which it wasn’t. I didn’t feel safe here I didn’t feel like it was a very nice environment to be in, any problems I brought up to her she seemed bemused and tried to brush it under the carpet. It might improve with share academy but I wouldn’t hold your breath. Some of the teachers are amazing. But the non professional staff act it its as if they are one of the students themselves.

"Some great aspects, but areas for improvement"

We have had a mixed experience with Whitcliffe Mount so far. The staff are generally friendly and supportive, and my child has enjoyed the DT lessons. However, I have found the communication from the school to be patchy at times, and I wish there were more opportunities for parents to get involved. Overall, I think the school has a lot of potential, but there are areas that need improvement.

"Parent made poorly by this school."

No support to child ,If parents complain it is ignored .Do your child a favour and pick a different school . Any complaints made to the school and the school are always right ,the parent wrong without Investigating the complaint . They ignore the complaints and use the banning of the parent if you complain too much ,that is in their policy.Even though complaints are justified . "We will not deal with the husband only the wife "comes up as the headteachers are females ,sexist at best.

"Excellent education and facilities at Whitcliffe Mount"

As a parent of a Year 8 child at Whitcliffe Mount, I am thoroughly impressed with the education and facilities provided. My child has excelled in their studies and developed a strong sense of community through the share values. The DT department is particularly excellent, and my child has loved participating in the cake sales for Children in Need. I highly recommend this school.

"Do not send your children to this school "

If you love your children send them to a different school. They do not care about students who struggle only the students who are expected to get 6 or above in the end of year 11 GCSE's. Rats in the outdoor areas. Double standard between students and teachers. Do not care about supporting students through situations. In my time at whitcliffe I had 2 good teachers

"Whitcliffe Mount helped my child thrive"

I have two children who attended Whitcliffe Mount, and I was thoroughly impressed with the education and support provided. The tag rugby tournament was a highlight for my son, and he loved being part of the team. The teachers and staff were always approachable and supportive, which made a big difference to our family. We are grateful for the opportunities and experiences provided by the school.

"Student "

Personal experience its awful as they dont take the time to understand the students issues and will immediately go straight to punishments which obviously dont help. Nothing gets done about bullying and even the staff have said they hate their jobs most days

"Go to another school !!!"

Really liked this school in years gone by but now with a child in year 9 really disappointed and things have only gone downhill since Covid. Online parents evenings with not enough slots to fit parents in, no feedback after parents evening if you couldn't get a slot, massive concerns from school about what shoes your child wears but no homework any week day or weekend....think the priorities are lost.
Appeal to the school for info as a parent and they just ignore you.

"Horrible support"

My brother has been attending here since year 7 and now he is in year 10. He has experienced trauma during this time and resultantly developed mental health issues, which are currently so debilitating he cannot even access Cleckheaton let alone the school. The most “support” we have been offered is from attendance, whom are pushing for him to return to school or to be home educated, and threatening prosecution otherwise. In terms of actual mental health support, there has been none. No referrals, no recognition of any SEND needs, no support plans, nothing. I actually read Whitcliffe’s policy on mental health and I couldn’t keep myself from laughing - it’s an absolute joke. All the stuff they claim to be doing for student’s wellbeing and then in reality they treat mental health as a “choice”, a “refusal” to attend school; in honesty to them it’s not a mental health issue, it’s an attendance issue. There is some serious work to be done here.

"MRS HESMONDHALGH "

Right in July time when I found out that we were having a new headteacher I started to question myself ‘is she nice’ ‘ will she be fair’ ‘will she care for student’ ext, then when I finally got a chance to meet her in September she was awful. Then when time went on and I got to know her probably I can now say she is on of the fairest, kindest, funniest teacher we have ever had a whitcliffe Mount, Just In 4 months of getting to know her she has become one out of 2 favourite teachers of mine.

cannot fault the impeccable effort made by my teachers to support me throughout my time there. Miss Williams, Mrs Murphy, Miss Brinn and Mr Mason are teachers I will never forget and people who were just able to make my time here much easier.

"NEW HEADTEACHER"

Whitcliffe Mount is a good school. When ever I need help about anything teachers doors are always open for you. At start I didn’t think I would like the new headteacher but she is the most amazing, caring and trustworthy teacher whitcliffe mount has ever had ♥️
