"The New Head ruined everything good"

I previously wrote a review and gave it 4 stars. I stand by what I said at the time, but since the new head came in, the schools became more of an anarchy with pathetic rules that no one follows, and most of the good teachers, particularly some in the math department, all left and have been replaced with alright ones, but not up to the quality of the old ones.

I will say the food has improved but not by much, so a cross between the good teachers leaving and a stricter head enforcing pathetic rules that make school life miserable have downgraded my rating. If it improves it may go back up, but for now, I can't rate it higher than a 3, and sometimes it slips below that, so I'll give it a 2 for now.

"My time so far"

When I first came to Herma a few years back I knew it was the school for me, however nowadays I do have some complaints, with some classes battered with significant low Level Distruption with ruins my learning in subjects I chose for options, and the food is either excellent or diabolical. Overall though, still a good school

"DONT SEND YOUR KIDS TO THIS SCHOOL!"

do not ever send your kids to this school. The teachers dont care about students mental health. they have made a rule where you are not aloud to be bald they will take your phone off you without permission. there would be dirty teachers looking up girls skirts. They have cameras right outside the girls toilets. You would not be aloud to the toilet during lessons and if you were you would get escorted to the toilet or have to leave you phone on the tachers desk. Even if they see your phone either in your bag or pocket they will take it off you. they never listen to the other students side of the story and overall the teachers dont care if you have your own problems they only care about making you work over 6 hours a day.

"Excellent Transition to Sixth Form"

My son transitioned to sixth form at Hermitage Academy last year and it's been a really smooth process. The teachers are supportive and the resources are top-notch. I'm impressed with the way the school handles special educational needs and disabilities, too.

"Mixed Experience"

We've had a mixed experience with Hermitage Academy so far. Our son loves his classes, especially computer science, but we've had some issues with communication from the school. The facilities are great, but sometimes the school seems a bit disorganised.

"Just don't bother."

If the word 'travesty' was a school.

They waste money on pointless things that don't benefit pupil learning or enjoyment at all whilst the computers run so slow to the point where they actively hamper the work rate of students.

The learning conditions are poor and half the classrooms resemble the rooms of an abandoned psychiatric ward rather than those of a modern school.

They refuse to take action on anything important and instead focus on trivial matters like uniform more than legitimate bullying, racism & homophobia.

I'm surprised people still choose to send their kids to this place, it truly is terrible.

"DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE "

I would give this 0 stars if I could. I was struggling so bad when I was here, bullied and acting out cause of mental health issues. The teachers do not care, I left at fourteen due to anxiety. It got to the point I couldn’t leave the house for years, I am almost 20 and I am struggling to get into the job or university I want because of the lack of support this school offered me.

I am undergoing autism and bipolar assessments, I have been diagnosed with Anxiety, Borderline Personality Disorder and Depression.

If I had a bit more support I would have been in a better place.

"Herma is pretty bad "

It’s really bad actually. The teachers can’t control the kids and we were given like the worst rating when ofsted visited. We got a new head but all they’ve done is made the uniform rules 10 times stricter but the actual education we get is still bad. The students behaviour is awful and I wouldn’t recommend this school.
