"my review."

Oaks Park High School doesn't give help that some kids need, also some teachers don't even let kids that are allowed to play with a fidget. They only care about education and no one has mental health at all. Therefore this school is just horrible to students and even some parents, they always lie to parents about there child's behaviour, and will find a way to get a student excluded.

"Good school"

I recently attended the parents' open evening at Oaks Park High School and was very pleased with the experience. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly, which made me feel comfortable and appreciated. I especially want to commend the hospitality team — they provided a lot of food, cakes, and drinks for free, which was a lovely touch.

The head teacher was very open-minded and approachable, which I appreciated. While I did notice that the school could benefit from a bit more discipline to prevent some misbehaviour, I believe this is something that can improve over time.

In terms of education, I am impressed with the high academic achievements of many students, including my daughter, who is very happy and proud to be part of the school. I believe that with continued effort, Oaks Park High School will reach even higher levels of excellence in the future.

"Uncaring school."

A uncaring and money motivated school.
The students are treated as second class citizens and don't get any support from the year team and are bullied by certain teachers and senior staff, If it involves them doing extra work or paperwork that may effect they bonuses. The Children don't matter here.
Don't send your child to an unprofessional run school.

"Racial Discriminatory"

Do not send your child to Oaks Park. This school is ran by staff members who racially profile their students, staff members who allow white student to attack and assault students of color with no consequences.
Th head teacher sends out letters deflecting from the other students actions.
If you value your child mental health and physical wellbeing, then this would not be the appropriate school placement for your child.
I cannot stress enough this school is full of racism and discrimination.
Formerly Stanley Park they made an attempt to revamp their approach and their outlook and changed their name. However, nothing has changed.
Do not send your black babies to this school

"Avoid needs more done"

This school will pick and chooses who they want to help and support with mental issues ,while some pupils get loads of help sadly others don’t especially if they don’t like your child then sadly your child will not get the same amount of support
This school has a very worry high rate of self harming going on with many students carrying blades on them, school would rather keep it quite then cause a Panic. pupils clearly need help and support but why some pupils get a lot of support sadly other don’t and that makes the pupils spiral even further with mental health issue to suicidal thoughts .The school just wants these kind of pupils out the school and say they have done everything to help ,Never trust what they say and chase it up and repeatedly check they have done what they have agree to do for your children as sadly this has not been the case for many pupils .
If your child is not very liked by the high teachers they do not stand a chance as these teachers will constantly trigger your child and how to push them,Then when the pupils is triggered they will have them for bad behaviour
In meeting take notes and get them to sign ,if you don’t they will make you feel things have not been said or that you missed understood and unfortunately liar ,so always get on record and a plan sign and check it’s being done as promised if you feel they are not doing everything they should be doing like the school policy says make some noise and get your voice heard until they do because if a pupil breaks school policy they follow it to get pupils out

"Give your kids a chance in life but NOT SENDING THEM HERE"

If you want your child to do well in life sending them to this place will ensure that doesn’t happen.
There are however a few really decent teachers that want to help your child do well
High staff show no compassion to helping kids in need, and would go as far as not respecting the opinions of the really good teachers that want to help kids
This school needs a good shake up as they are meant to play a part of shaping kids for the future not tearing them down .Can see why so many kids have behaviour issue,Time this school helped these children

"Oaks park high"

Awful school
Hierarchy teachers do not care or listen to children’s needs just care about results or you are out
If child’s grades slip not bothered about looking into why or how to help them get back on track
Policies not followed to help children with mental health issue they just get redeemed as bad behaviour kids and would rather kick them out other then support them, unless they like your child then they will bend over backwards to help

"Fantastic school"

I think this is a superb school.
They challenge the kids & encourage them out of their comfort zone to ensure they become a well rounded adult.
The teachers go above and beyond at every level.

My son has grown so much at Oaks Park High, both academically and personally. The facilities are fantastic, the teachers are supportive, and the sense of community is wonderful. Highly recommend!

"Not a educational setting or environment. "

I would not send any child to this school . I always thought i would send all mine to the same high school but my youngest will no way be going there

The staff are just under to much pressure now and the school has gone to pot!
I can not believe there has not been intervention from the authorities.
Teaching standards are low,
Care for students is low,
Behaviour though the school is despicable.
There is no authority within the school
It could honestly appear on a TV Show.
The toilets are now locked due to them being abused!
The canteen is so small most kids cant get food and if they do there is no where to sit.
Communication from school is non existent

Myself and many other parents are desperate to get our kids out before its to late !
But places in borough are near on impossible to get

It has not had an ofstead since it changed names, and when one does i do hope it changes!

There are a few good teachers there that really are a credit, but i think this has gone to far now and needs serious help to improve

"HIGHLY DONT RECOMMEND SENDING YOUR CHILD HERE "

I have been a previous student here myself and now my siblings go here. If I were to begin with the amount of problems and issues this school has I could be writing this review forever. The head teacher, is a racist disrespectful human being who lacks empathy for their staff and students mental and physical well being. The standards of the school is very poor they have ridiculous expectations for the kids, the amount of bullying that has resulted in students taking their life as well as harming themselves is genuinely concerning. I was extremely concerned for my siblings safety in this school after hearing the amount of things they witness and go through on a day to day basis from teachers. They have no regards or proper measures put in place to prevent bullying. They do not care about kids, all their focus is on out on making the school look good in the borough. Many great teachers have left due to bad pay, being overworked and just generally bad treatment.

My daughter has struggled with some subjects, but the teachers at Oaks Park High have been really helpful in providing extra support. She's started to get back on track, and I'm very grateful.

While my son enjoys attending Oaks Park High, I've been a bit disappointed with the quality of some of the teaching. However, I appreciate the school's efforts to involve parents in the decision-making process.

"Simply the worst school "

This is the worst school I have ever come across, the worst in academics, staff and disciplines. Some students are abominably bad and disruptive, but the staff and the parents can't properly discipline them.

"Don’t do it!"

This is a problem school with problem teachers! Don’t send your child here, so many people enrol their kids then end up pulling them out because for as great as they look on paper as a school, staff are rude and difficult to deal it’s staff fabricate stories because they feel like it (and never give you an explanation for doing it) accuse parents of things then refuse to apologise or retract their statements when proved wrong. Upon doing some social media research I found out 3 children have been pulled out because of the same member of staff with severe comprehension issues and is extremely rude to parents that is also my main problem. As a politician for a party that has a huge input in state education this school seriously concerns me but for obvious reasons this school is on my radar as well as the local authority, we have many good schools in the Sutton burrough please save yourself pulling your child out.

"Good times but lots to improve."

In all seriousness, when I look back at my time at secondary school, which was (Stanley Park High) at the time, I mostly think of positive things. The time I had at school was really memorable, I met some really great people and teachers. I don’t just want to focus on the negatives because It was honestly some of the best years of my life.

A few things that just shouldn’t be happening at a school:

The head of school interrogating students to find out who is dealing in the school.

Teachers (One of the male pe teachers) blatantly seeing kids saying homophobic slurs to LGBT students in their year and not doing anything about it. (He may not have known how much of an impact he had on us however as a teacher he should have done something as he has a duty to safeguard and if I don’t speak up here, no one would ever know.)

Lots of chav fights and love to get all in your face and start drama.

Phone policy is silly. I’m pretty sure it is illegal to confiscate someones phone for the entire week and to lock it in the school safe.

Bicycle licenses was the wordt idea the headteacher ever had.

The exam coordinator of the school was blatantly rude and when asked why I had not received the exams that I got remarked ( which i paid £50 for per exam) he responded “well if your mark had changed, you would’ve been told”
The point of getting an exam remarked is to be notified of the results, not being humiliated when chasing it up. Utterly ridiculous.

When I started college, it was a big surprise for me how we were treated with respect and like an actual human, as schools think degrading is the best way to punish nowadays.

My english teacher, whom I had for year 7, 9,10 and 11 was so incredible, pushed me to my limits and stayed after school to help me and other students get extra help and push us to get the best grades possible. Props to her! Hope she is doing incredibly well!

Overall SPH, oaks park was alright, lots of good memories, good building, other than trade in summer as the air intake is next to the sewage output and stinks in the heat. Timetable was a good layout, with form right before lunch.
There was a vast range of Teachers.
However don’t get me wrong there is a lot to improve.

The pe department think theyre a bunch of teenagers taking the mick out of students and absolutely losing their cool if you forget your pe kit even if its just the once by accident.

All teachers need training on proper discipline and treating students with respect.

All teachers need training on intervention with racism, homophobia etc.

Some policies and procedures need reviewing.

The grades of students need to be improved, my gcses were a joke in comparison to my mock exams.

Efc was great and im an incredibly confident public speaker to this date. I do great in interviews and I have received countless promotions in my career and have had many opportunities due to my confidence and reliability.
