About Smith's Wood Academy

Smith's Wood Academy is a secondary Academy with just over 780 students in years 7 to 11 and with access to Fairfax Academy Sixth Form for years 12 & 13. The Academy has the benefit of being a PFI build with a wide range of modern, state of the art facilities at its disposal. Since I joined the Academy in February 2023, we have been on a clear trajectory to making small daily steps that result in big changes and everything we do is underpinned by our Academy values; ambitious, respectful, resilient.

"Mixed Feelings"

We're still getting used to the school's structure and expectations, but the teachers seem nice and the facilities are lovely. Our child is settling in, but we're a bit concerned about the homework load and the competition with other students. We're hoping things will improve as the year goes on.

"A Wonderful School Community!"

We're so happy with the school's modern facilities, the teachers are all very supportive, and our child loves the GCSEPod program. The values of respect, ambition, and resilience really shine through in the students and staff. We feel very lucky to have found such a great school.

"Excellent Education and Facilities"

My child had a great experience at Smith's Wood Academy. The teachers were knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and the facilities were top-notch. We especially appreciated the emphasis on integrity and tradition. One minor suggestion: we felt the homework load could be more manageable at times, but overall, we're very satisfied.
