"vile school"

absolutely shocking school, teachers do nothing about kids mental health until it’s affecting their attendance. My child was meant to get put into the schools therapy as I had a meeting and they promised me regular sessions, my daughter still hasn’t had a single session and that was promised in April 2024. My daughter was meant to have a meeting with her head of year and form tutor to catch up with them and discuss certain plans, that meeting never happened and was meant to take place in September 2024.

"My school experience."

I always felt lonely in the school, the people in the school are so judgemental and have no shame, always laughing at things that aren't even funny, they targeted people who are more quite asking questions, not out of curiosity but to merely make fun of them. Even so, I still endured this and went through the dragging school year. I thought things would get better but nothing did, everyone always got into some verbal fights and verbally abused teachers. The students excluded me, they didn't let me join their groupwork and activities. Moreover, I am sure teachers noticed this but they didn't say or do anything at all to help. They always payed more attention to others and to people like me who were quite and " weird ", they didn't pay attention at all. When I changed my classes finally, that was the only time I had a good time, enjoying my lessons and learning. Learning in groups as well, finally. But in the next school year, everything went to the same old ways, alone. I cried when I saw how horrid my timetable was, my 2 friends were together for almost everything. Except me. I had PE with my one and only bestfriend the year before but she was in PE with my other bestfriend in that year I cried due to my timetable, even though the teachers probably knew how close we both were, they kept me away from lessons with my friends. I had to go back to being lonely with no one. When I was alone in my lessons, I am going to be honest, my concentration was low due to how saddened I felt. I felt upset and empty all the time. When I changed classes, I felt more at peace and concentrated even more, my friends were there during groupwork, so I didnt have to worry, meanwhile being alone, no one cared, even the teachers. At one point, everyone was used to me being by myself and doing all the work myself, even the teachers, only certain few teachers seemed to care. When I was by myself during groupwork, ( even though you were meant to be in groups) I didn't even get checked up on as they were all too busy doing their own stuff and when we had to be in groups, even though most of the times we are supposed to but I had to work by myself ( as I said everyone was quite used to it ) but anyways, when we had to be in groups, people would avoid being with me, and when they did, I'm pretty sure they felt uneasy and some looked at me with disgust. I think this school only pay attention to certain students, such as ones that really need special attention due to the health which is obviously important for them, however, they also pay more attention to students that are more popular in the year group but also seen as "naughty". They get extra rewards for doing things they should be doing. Other students mental health or deteriorating by the minute, but no one seems to notice. I notice when people are visibly upset but no one else does, because they see it as completely normal as the people who are upset are quite kids. I see these students upset but what about other times? They were probably upset during other times were nobody noticed. They needed help. When people who aren't quite and liked by the year group are upset, they get the help they need so why shouldn't they? I have cried many times in this school aswell. It doesn't matter to me if I get my help or not. The damage has already been done. I just want others to get their help that is needed. Please make the school a better environment for people like me. I am finding it harder to come into school everyday. The notices that are put up during form about mental health and attendance are not helping. People might have had a better and more positive experience at the school but my experience was not pleasant at all, everyone has different opinions and experiences anyways. This is only some of my experiences, I have more to say but I would rather not say and it would be too much for this already very full review. Thank you for reading, I appreciate it, take care and have a nice day.

"Prenton high "

Let’s just say this the school is awful. You have to have a pass to leave the class even if you’re about to throw up. There is one toilet for the whole school during lesson. If your test isn’t on the system yet it’s been marked and graded you have to redo the whole exam

"Care about students mental health "

This school is pretty average but need to improve on alot. Firstly, they need to start caring more about there students and how they are and stop thinking they are being rude or refusing to learn.

"miss robson is horrible"

miss robson is horrible and so are the other staff they do nothing to stop any of the bad or bullying which occurs often in the school. miss robson put all year 9s and 8s into an assembly and continued to insult our apperance saying we look ridiculous and made our dress code more strict. she then began to say how we are all horrible and dont have the capababilities to make friends nor even have any, and i know that some students unfortunately, dont in those years but its definitely not because theyre horrible.

"Prenton High School Ex Student "

As a recent student from this school, I just started year 12, it's horrendous. The teachers don't teach the curriculum properly and there were a few cases of staff leaving us with supply teachers for years and not giving us a permanent teacher until our last year of school. Additionally, one of my teachers for my media subject left two weeks before our gcses, due to her mental health, leaving us again with supplies for those two weeks. In my music class the two teachers I had both didn't teach us all of the right case studies, we only learnt 5 out of 8 musical pieces I believe, leaving me with a 3 and one if the "best students" getting a 1. The only reason this school is getting an extra star is due to the set 5 math teacher, Mr Tang as he is what got a lot of the students through our years, we even trusted him more than our subject leader as he was the light in that school. I don't recommend students coming here for education purposes but it does become a community after awhile and I do miss some staff but I'm very glad to have left. Another factor is the food is extremely expensive for those not on free school meals, and were not changed even after everyone was complaining , some students, when I was in year 8 or 9, even found bugs or mold in some of the food, I can't remember exactly.

"review"

literally horrible
didn’t deal with bullying at all, overworked students with chronic illnesses to the point of illness, couldn’t handle neurodivergent students and mentally ill students.
also wasn’t very good with accommodating trans people who came out during the school years. teaching styles were awful too, overall did more harm than good
