Batley Grammar School

Disgusting school lots of bulling vaping and lazy staff the teachers don’t even teach they are just there for a laugh. Some teachers even gossip with students about things they do not need to hear honestly I would never send any kid here

Really bad school would not recommend at all to send your children to Batley Grammar the staff are really lazy no correspondence from contacting school office to ringing back this has happened on numerous occasions for my daughter GCSE maths certificate was missing from the the envelope she collected been ringing since January 2024 till date have not received any call back or the certificate I've rang a good 10 times to speak to someone regarding this they keep making excuses.She left school in summer 2023 and now we are in April 2025.
The detention system is awful and ridiculous just being in that group whether you've done anything or not the teachers give 30 minutes detention to the whole group of children... when you try to contact school regarding the detention being unreasonable no one contacts you back and the teacher decides to increase it to 1 hour the next day because you haven't attended the detention even though I'm waiting for that call to discuss the ridiculous reason for the detention. I've had 3 kids in this school so from my experience I don't recommend sending your children if I had the option to move my boys I would do straight away.

I cant lie, the school is an absolute joke. say they’d ring you back, never do, say they’ll arrange meetings, never do unless your child is in the wrong. they are terrible at communication and say one thing and mean the complete opposite. they are totally unfair and treat students differently also.
wouldn’t recommend this school, it all went down hill since the new headteacher came last september

The Head Teacher should Resign for throwing his Teacher under the Bus Regarding Religious Instruction !!
He should never have Apologised to the aggressors demonstrating for a lesson that had been given many times!!

this school is for the rough and ready type of students, bad manners must be a GCSE subject.

I did at one point love this school. now my opinion has changed.

LACK OF STAFF, nobody is ever available, and when messages are left no matter how serious you MIGHT get a phone call back. There are some lovely receptionists but half the time you talk to someone who thinks their one cut above the rest.

BULLYING is a massive problem here and never gets sorted it's just another normal day for staff because they deal with it all the time, detention is nothing to those kids just more time with their mates, and they will repeat and repeat because hey what is an extra 30 minutes to an hour with there mates. some of the time the kids don't even turn up, what can staff do drag them no they cannot. Some parents could not care less or have just had enough. The school should remove them to schools that deal with children like that. the children/young people who are there to learn would benefit in a good way when children like that are removed.
TEACHERS. There are some fantastic teachers there on this my opinion is divided. some teachers could not care less and the odd couple that look down on you. some act like "I am the all-powerful" they ruin it for the good members of staff,the bad teachers will always stand out more

SCHOOL DINNERS, IF your child comes home ripping the fridge door off understand the portion control is poor

POLICIES are not worth the paper it's printed on

when staff drop their godlike attitude and bullying stops and is dealt with properly then this school might get a really good score it needs attention I hope education is reading through this before attending the school. I have only given the rating a 2 because of the good members of staff that are there.

Absolute horrible behaviour, from pupils and a delayed reaction from teachers who are endlessly hop along to investigate issues. Hard bullying so not for soft going kids. Needs a revamp of expertise in this school.

School more like a detention centre total joke.
