"my experience.."

My time at Atherton High School has been nothing short of disappointing. From the moment I started I felt let down by a lack of proper support, uninspiring teaching, and an environment that often seemed more focused on control than actual learning. The atmosphere can be demoralising with little room for individuality or creative expression and far too much tolerance for disruptive behaviour that makes it hard for anyone to focus. Instead of feeling motivated or encouraged I’ve spent most of my time just trying to get through each day. Honestly, it’s been a rubbish experience that’s left me feeling frustrated, disheartened and is ready to move on.

"do not send your kids to atherton high"

horrible and dreadful school. the teachers are lazy and cant even teach and useless. do not send your kids here my time so far at this school has been the worst. they are all incompetent and their mental health system is even worse the bathrooms are constantly broken and flooded. new headteacher can’t even control the kids and knows absolutely none of them and hasn’t tried to. neither is she consistent with her decisions about the school, like enforcing a rule then removing it then enforcing it again and again. making students line up outside school down to the park because theyre getting bag checks and blazer checks and made to remove makeup or eyelashes at the door and confiscating phones before theyve gone in the building and having to swap their phone (or house keys, which has been said before) or personal belongings to even have an ice pack or spare uniform. pastoral are useless and don’t even care about the medical issues or welfare of their students at all and are often just on their phones. on multiple occasions i have overheard members of the pastoral team talking bad to eachother about the students who come to them for help and even laughing about it. do not send your kids to this school.

"don’t recommend this school"

I woudnt recommend anyone to go to this school most of the teachers are absolutely brilliant but the head teacher isn’t the greatest of people he’s not very good at managing the school and he’s not respected by the children which I’m not sup prised by so I hope this school gets improverd the only thing they care about is attendance in that school

"Some positives, but need more support for SEND"

My son has really enjoyed his first year at Atherton High, but we've struggled to get the support he needs as a child with special educational needs. The teachers are lovely and try their best, but the school's SEND provision could be better. The facilities are great, though, and the values of the school are lovely. We're hoping things will improve as we work with the school to get the support he needs.

"Thrilled with the facilities and support!"

I've been blown away by the new sports hall and 3G pitch at Atherton High! My daughter is in Year 8 and loves the PE lessons. The teachers and staff are all so supportive and the values of respect, responsibility, and ambition really shine through. We feel so lucky to have found a school like this!

"Amazing school with a wonderful community!"

We were so sad to leave Atherton High when our daughter moved on to sixth form, but she's thriving and still talks about her time there fondly. The school's commitment to character education and British values really stood out to us, and the opportunities for enrichment and extracurricular activities were fantastic. We can't recommend it highly enough!

"Horrible place"

The literal worst school. Had some horrible, useless lessons with even worse teachers. The only pro of it is that it’s small, and close knit. However it’s no wonder, with the teachers acting like clowns.

"Not the best"

Biased teachers, all need training on diversity. Students treated unfairly.
