Welkom bij lagere school de Zonnewijzer. Onze centrumschool, gelegen in het hart van Zonhoven, telt ongeveer 439 leerlingen in het eerste tot zesde leerjaar. De Zonnewijzer wil een school zijn voor iedereen, waarbij we voor elk kind zoveel mogelijk leerwinst nastreven, met oog op gelijke kansen, welbevinden, betrokkenheid en zelfsturing, dit in dialoog met alle belanghebbenden.

"A Joyful Learning Environment"
We've been really impressed with the Zonnewijzer's approach to learning. The 'Wijze Lessons' method has helped our child develop a love of reading and maths, and the daily opportunities for physical activity have been a huge hit. We feel lucky to have such a wonderful school in our community!

"A Home Away from Home"
My child has thrived at De Zonnewijzer! The teachers are caring, the facilities are fantastic (loving the open-air classrooms!), and the emphasis on teamwork and kindness has been amazing to watch. We feel like we've found a true partner in our child's education.

"Generally Positive, but Room for Improvement"
Our child attended De Zonnewijzer for three years, and while we had some wonderful experiences, we also encountered some challenges with communication and organisation. That being said, the teachers were generally supportive and the school's commitment to inclusivity was admirable. With a bit more attention to detail, we think De Zonnewijzer could be an even more exceptional school.
