"AWFUL."

Horrid, i was there from year 7 to 11, i have anxiety and autism, i did not recieve any help, hell they didnt even RECOGNISE i had autism. in year 9 i was off most the year due to bullying i threw up every day before school and stayed off for overall 4 months in total. When i slowly got back into the swing of school i was fully forced into my lessons mid way through the lesson, which was extremely uncomfortable and difficult for me to do due to my anxiety. They helped my friend tho, putting her in the harbour room because she was off as well. She failed most her exams though so not much help to her. During my exams in year 11, my great grandma sadly passed, i was severely upset over it. i got pulled out of tutor twice, which was helpful but then got told to do some mindful colouring and answer these weird mental health questions which wasnt related to what i was going through. In year 7 my class went through 10 tutors which is terrible, it must be 1 tutor each year. For history i had a pedophile as my teacher. My year office was very rarely open, when it was we had a different woman in it each time, the one teacher i trusted as well got moved to where all the troublesome kids go to to just sit and do nothing. a lot of my year group failed their gcse's due to the lack of support and teachers giving up on them very quickly. My child development teacher was horrible saying i wasnt going to pass - i passed. My travel and tourism teacher SHUT THE DOOR and stood outside as she believed my class stole her board remote ?! no one took it. she was sat at the front of the class the whole lesson watching us, the remote was dead. My head of year, mr melvin smith, miss preedy, miss melvin smith, mr miller pipe were the best teachers i could ever ask for, thank you for making my experience at poole high slightly better and i will never ever forget anything you did for me- especially miss preedy and miss melvin smith!
The canteen food - overpriced and expensive
We have 5 minutes to run to our next lesson in the overcrowded and small corridors, if your 2 mins late - isolation for the lesson and 1 hour detention after school. you have 1 warning and then your out getting removed.
my phone was taken off me and searched because i was accused of having an inappropriate photo of my friend on my phone, they deleted photos of me in a crop top showing now cleivage or anything in the photo saying me wearing a crop top was inappropriate- it was the middle of summer? i was 14 ?
Do not go to their sixth form either.
I threw up multiple times in a week and asked to go home - one tike they told me to call my mum i didn't have data, another time they said 'its just your anxiety' and told me to go back to my lesson.
Another time i went to the toilet during a lesson and a teacher walked in asking who i was and why im out of lesson, what does it look like ??? im peeing ????
Overall - if your child has mental health issues or struggle to fit in due to how they dress/ act, i dont recommend.

"Don’t go to PHS"

Worst school ever ! So racist and not diverse at all! The teachers don’t care for bullying and let my kid be called a terrorist and other racial slurs , the school needs to be shut down for the lack of attention towards these poor children !!!!!!!

"Poole hIgh school"

I have two children at PHS, one is about to go into 6th Form and the other is currently year 9 and both have done extremely well here, they are happy at school, the teachers seem to genuinely want to teach (which is refreshing) yes they are quite strict but with 1,895 kids you have to be in full control! The work ethic is good, the trips are good, they have a breakfast club and after school activities which are free so the school is pretty much open from 7.30-4pm

"Good school for my son."

My son currently attends the school and is thriving. Overall he likes his teachers and has a couple of favourites who he will really miss when he no longer has them. He works hard and is recognised for this.

"There are better schools"

Not the worst school in the area but a lot of things could've been much better. In both secondary school and sixth form there was a lot of bullying going on behind the scenes which the school didn't handle well, including homophobic and racist incidents, and tends to punish students for standing up for themselves in a reasonable way rather than the original perpetrators.
Academics-wise, it's decent but doesn't have much support for students with dyslexia, autism, etc. Also virtually no support or understanding for LGBT+ students, students who don't have a lot of money (especially if they need to work part-time) or students with bad home lives. There are a few good teachers in this aspect but most sadly aren't good at all.
I had one very bad experience with one of my teachers who claimed that I was 'too stupid to achieve anything'.
I wouldn't recommend this school, especially for any students who come from marginalised groups.

"Best school in Poole "

Poole High is really an amazing school. I moved my daughter to this school in year 10 because I had had enough of the inconsistent discipline of her previous school. Since being at Poole High with their amazing structure and their very strong anti bullying principles my daughter has dramatically changed into a person with drive and ambition for her future. I cannot stress how much I love all the teachers and leaders at poole high for what they have given to my daughter and to us as a family because I get a happy teenager at the end of the day. Poole High you are truly amazing. Thank you do much for changing our lives in such a positive way.

"Fantastic start to senior school"

Poole High School has provided my child with a fantastic start to senior school. The school's focus on developing 'world-ready young adults' really resonates with me. I've been impressed with the range of extracurricular activities on offer, too.

"Varied experience"

My children attended Poole High School a few years ago, and while they had a good experience overall, I did feel that the school could do more to engage with parents and keep us informed about our children's progress.
