The Mount School York is an exceptional independent day and boarding school based in the heart of York. A co-educational Prep School and all girls’ Senior School. We have been at the forefront of providing an exceptional education since 1785. Our Quaker founders knew that children excel within a nurturing and encouraging environment.

"A Home Away From Home"

We've been at The Mount for 3 years and it's been an absolute game-changer for our daughter. The facilities are top-notch, the staff are caring and supportive, and the values of kindness, empathy, and confidence are woven throughout every aspect of the school. We're so grateful to be a part of the Mount community.

"Excellent Education"

We were impressed by the Mount's Super-Curricular programme and have seen a real difference in our child's engagement and enthusiasm for learning since starting at the school. The teachers are enthusiastic and well-qualified, and the facilities are excellent. We're happy with our decision to send our child to the Mount.

"A Good, but Not Outstanding Experience"

We had a good experience at the Mount, but we did feel that our child was not stretched as much as they could have been. The facilities are excellent, and the staff are generally supportive, but we found the school to be a bit too focused on exams and not enough on other areas of education. Overall, it was a good experience, but not an outstanding one.
