As an Ex student, Stags was an awful experience, if im honest, worst 5 years of my life. The expectations are ridiculously high, Children are punished for almost everything they do. They force the kids to behave like robots. They make the school seem brilliant to Ofted, but as a Young Adult i assure you it is all a show. Stags is a "One size fits all" mentality, when in reality they discriminate students with any sort of mental health issues, or problems in general. … *(Nov 2025)* - **1/5** — This school is horrible: Don’t come here if you care about your mental health, the school only cares about their reputation and doesn’t do anything about it. They only talk about it in assembly and no further action is taken. People are very toxic to you for no reason if you’re not pretty or popular. You get bullied tons for just existing. I would not recommend this school to anyone. *(Nov 2025)* - **1/5** — don’t do it: 2017-2024 Throughout year 11, I struggled greatly with my mental health and all the teachers cared about was my attendance, rather than my wellbeing. They forced me into lessons while having panic attacks and were so insensitive and horrible. Very bad. *(Oct 2025)* - **1/5** — rubvbish: rubbish bullying and teachers dont do anthin bout it *(May 2025)* - **1/5** — Uncomfortable.: So I came to pick up a student as I am registered taxi driver. I am a Asian male the way the receptionist looked at me and was just staring at me was definitely a awkward feeling also mentioned who I worked for and still she was looking at me like she’s seen a ghost made me feel really uncomfortable. I will be telling my firm I don’t want to do this job anymore. *(Mar 2025)* - **2/5** — Student from 2016-2021: This school gave me many opportunities as a young girl, and though this is a good thing, it was not worth the emotional and psychological trauma I have been left with. I find it appalling how teachers were allowed to scold you and distribute consequences for forgetting something as small as a pencil. It left so many of my peers so scared that if they had forgotten part of their stationary, they would hide the whole lesson, and spend the day in fear they would get penalised. One of the worst thin… *(Jan 2025)* - **1/5** — Think carefully before you send your child here: Think very carefully before you send your child here, especially if they have SEND. The lack of pastoral care and understanding of mental health in this school is staggering and bordering on abusive. The priorities here are academic results and conformity, which is enforced through a culture of fear and at the cost of wellbeing. Children who do not conform to the stags way are ‘strongly encouraged’ to find a new school so that they do not affect the schools image or results. This school needs an… *(Oct 2024)* - **1/5** — dont do it: this school is the worst school in the uk, i would not recommend sending your daughters to this school i truly regret *(Jul 2024)* - **1/5** — Lollololpol: Don’t know what this is but I guess it’s bad *(Jun 2023)* - **1/5** — They don't care about people: Awful school, they don't care for students, all they care about is getting the data to 'stand out' as being the best school in the area without caring for the individual. The SLT and head are total psychopaths. There is not an ounce of pastoral support for the kids, and the teachers are treated appallingly. Avoid at all costs. *(Apr 2023)* ## Other schools in St. Albans - [Samuel Ryder Academy](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/st-albans/samuel-ryder-academy-13899) — 2.1/5 (21 reviews) - [The Marlborough Science Academy](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/st-albans/the-marlborough-science-academy-13473) — 2.0/5 (14 reviews) - [St Albans School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/st-albans/st-albans-school-7218) — 4.3/5 (5 reviews) - [Park Street Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/st-albans/park-street-church-of-england-voluntary-aided-primary-school-7140) — 4.8/5 (4 reviews) - [St John Fisher Catholic Primary School, a Voluntary Academy](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/st-albans/st-john-fisher-catholic-primary-school-a-voluntary-academy-22229) — 4.7/5 (4 reviews) - [Redbourn Primary School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/st-albans/redbourn-primary-school-7000) — 4.6/5 (4 reviews) --- Source: SchoolBrowse (https://schoolbrowse.com) — reviews and ratings are user-submitted by parents.
